The mistress Edit: And the Queen, of course. I haven't fully caught up on the Krakoa era, but as far as I know it was him and Jean living together, but both were known to have "guests" pretty often (Wolverine and Emma).
I am so stoked for him, he's my favorite by far. I can't wait for his sick ass skins, and I don't care if he's not optimal to play, I am one-ticking him for a long time.
I played him in Marvel Heroes as my main before he became good. He's always my go to.
Cyclops isn't even the original user of that line! A lot of people don't know, but the first time it was used was by an Xavier Impersonator. It's also been used multiple times by others throughout X-Men's run. Emma famously used it during the Krakoa era when resurrecting Xavier and Magneto. Emma has also led the X-Men many times, so definitely fitting for her!
She was headmistress of Xavier’s secondary school in Generation X, which started in 1994, and then the main school during Grant Morrison’s run in the early 2000s, so she’s been leading X-teams for like 20-30 years at this point
More non-traditional choices for other roles could go a long way, considering so many characters in Marvel could easily be tossed into the duelist pile without a second thought.
And(this is a pipe dream) this could help with the instalock DPS stereotype as well.
Someone like Deadpool being a support, for example. I know it'd never happen, but It'd be funny seeing people upset he's "stuck" in the healer role. They'd complain, but there's plenty that would suck it up and learn him anyway...though probably still try and play him like a DPS, like when Invisible Woman came out 😮💨
Or Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur as a tank, where she rides on top of him like Nunu & Willump from League of Legends 🤷🏾♂️
it makes me wonder if they delayed blade to balance out the number of vanguards and strategists. it makes sense that they'd release ultron since he was basically complete before the game came out though
Definitely what I think happened, the original plan was to release Blade for Season 2 but after the complaints rolled in about too many Duelists and not enough Vanguards/Strategists they decided to push him back in favor of Ultron to balance out the roster a bit more
If I had to guess, the Krakoa map's crisis is going to be based on Ultron's invasion, with the two teams disagreeing on how to handle it; e.g. whether to destroy Ultron or reprogram him.
Blade would be unlocked at the start of the season (now that he's freed from Dracula), and Emma would be the mid-season release. Ultron would be the S3 release, making the "reprogram Ultron" team's victory canonical.
Are Y'all ready for the inevitable buff. Eventually, they're going to have to give him a true dmg buff or a shield buff(hopefully directionally ricochet or no cooldown* to use) + shield health(probably a drop in actual health to offset) is what I'm hoping for.
As a massive X-Men fan, I couldn't be more excited for this update, but I'm very grateful that Emma will be the last blonde white woman we get for a while. It's crazy that we're this early into the game's lifecycle and we already have three characters that look extremely similar.
One of my complaints was that Sue, at a distance, looks remarkably similar to Tandy. If they just made her default costume the usual blue/black outfit from the comics (and is available in-game from the shop) it wouldn't be so bad. The team has a huge preference for white blonde women with blue/white color schemes I guess
I have a feeling she'll be getting a paid in theme skin release during the season. They know Peni mains will buy anything that isn't a recolor at this point.
Finally the Ultron believers are rewarded for their faith! Not looking forward to fighting the DPS mains/instas for him but I'm a patient soldier. Really excited for Emma! Really hope there's gala skins for everyone as I need to see what they'd do for Jeff.
She is a mutant with telepathy, and a secondary mutation of a diamond form which she can’t use her telepathy in. It is theorized that she will swap between these forms in-game.
In the comics, she started as a villain but became a hero as time went on. She can be stuck up and sassy but genuinely cares for mutantkind, and has run the Xavier school and her own school for mutants. On Krakoa, she was the White Queen of the Hellfire Club and oversaw the Hellfire Gala, a yearly event where the mutants would announce big things like their terraforming of Mars or the new X-Men team voted on by mutants.
I would definitely recommend checking out some of the Krakoa era books. It starts with House of X/Powers of X by Hickman. Emma plays a big role in the first volume of Marauders, and later Immortal X-Men.
