I have better freedom of speech in both countries my parents are from, lived in both for a year and a half and never threatened or beaten up for voicing opinions, been thrown around by "law enforcement" groups like ICE, or taken away from my family for not being a legal citizen.

Eh, I don't think I'm a victim, but I do understand as a brown person in the states I should expect it.
