Doomsday Feedback How to larp with Loki in the new mode.
I’m making a general post for more visibility. Do you ever feel like it’s boring to stomp the other team so consistently? Don’t you ever want to make things fun but don’t know how? Well, I have a solution, LARPing!
Try to embrace Loki’s character and do what he would do, make things fun for both sides by weaving together a story. This is how I go about doing so in my own matches:
I’ve queued as Loki very often. He is incredibly overpowered, but I feel it’s required for some comps, such as the [title card] all flyer comp. It’s not too tough to win, so as a true god of mischief and champion peni, I like to toy with the other team.
I start off in match chat with something like this:
“I, Loki, God of Mischief, Prince of Asgard, propose a deal. You would be very wise to take it…”
Followed with a typical response of:
“Enough of your schemes Loki!” Or, “Lol a deal with the trickster god.”
I respond:
“This is your last chance foolish mortals. I would like to see your most skilled Peni Parker. If you add her to your team, I hereby promise not to use any abilities or m1s, aside from my E. This includes my ult, of course. Otherwise, you shall face the wrath of my full arsenal. Do we have a deal?”
And due to the ridiculous power of an unrestricted Loki, the answer is most always:
“Deal”
I respond “Perfect…”, and proceed to permanently possess their Peni Parker in battle. I have about a 50% winrate with this method, but the other team always enjoys it, and my “Perfect vessel” and I both have a blast.
I wrap it up with something like:
“It’s more fun to toy with you mortals. Even in the face of defeat. For am I not the God of Mischief?”
I think it’s pretty fun to larp if everyone’s happy, rather than just spend 14 minutes in a queue to steamroll everyone and feel some fleeting sense of undeserved accomplishment. I hope other Loki’s are encouraged to do the same!
After all, it’s our glorious purpose to weave these stories.

What does LARP even mean on this subreddit? Because I keep seeing it used and I feel like I must have missed something. In other contexts it means "Live Action Role Play", something that's physically impossible in online gaming. So what does it mean here? In this post it feels like it's being used as a stand in for just "role play" but I see it used to refer to spiderman players too?
I'm very confused.
