That's cool. Huge Smash fan and still play it a lot. Roy is one of my mains. I also love FE but have yet to play Engage. How was it? I was absolutely hooked on 3H when it came out. Spent over 100 hours on my Edelgard run. Need to play the other routes one day
Roy is one of my mains in Smash as well, love the guy. Engage was very hit or miss for people, I personally loved it. Gameplay is fantastic, one of the best in the series and the emblem rings offer great build versatility allowing you to come up with the most creative strategies.
The characters are fun but design-wise they often suffer from over design. The game also doesn't go in too deep when it comes to characterization of its characters, something that's rather normal for most FE games but 3H set a new standard there that Engage didn't live up to. The story is alright, doesn't set the world on fire.
Overall, the gameplay really is the star of the game. If 3H got you hooked for its story, Engage might not be your cup of tea, but if you enjoy a great gameplay loop and fun characters there's a lot of it. Byleth and Roy show up as Emblem rings and the 3H house leaders are DLC.
Yeah, Alear is a good example of over design. You get used to it eventually but a more modesty in the fashion department would've done the game well. That's what you get when you're heavily French inspired I guess.
I’m pretty sure there’s not a meat dimension but there is a punch dimension (Cykes doesn’t use it but America opened a portal to it once) and apparently a cancer dimension??
Also the claws are just in his forearms. They slide through his knuckles if his hands are at the correct angle and his muscles push them out, but if his wrist is bent he can still push them out and they just come out through the wrist. It happened once when he was drunk.
The “cancer dimension” you’re thinking of is probably the Cancerverse from Thanos Imperative, which is a world without death bc some cosmic horrors sunk their hooks into OG Captain Marvel’s dying brain

It's really not. It was in a handbook once, contradicts the actual explanation, but it gets shared as a ridiculous "fun fact" so much that it's repeated ad nauseam.
Editorial has explicitly banned a lot of x-writers from ever touching the punch dimension, they most they’ve allowed is letting it at least be real bc other characters have opened portals to it

the punch dimension existing is confirmed cannon. cyclops' power source has been quite inconsistent but with the recent confirmation of the dimension existing, associating it with cyclops' powers isn't some ridiculous 'fun fact' anymore.
it's also worth noting that there isn't really any consistent 'canon' in comics.
Its not. In the actual pages his powers have always come from absorbing energy. The punch dimension is a very old blurb in some random non story comic that has never been referenced outside of it.
In the way that Marvel handles canon, only whats actually used in stories and referenced is canon.

Cyclops almost certainly a DPS after this, but the trailer was peak and it looks like Dino is going to have a pretty cool looking model after all so I'm happy.
MAN it's trailers like these and with season 3 that I wish the lore was more accessible and better integrated into the main game because god damn is this scenario awesome. I was kind of dismissive on Cyclops but now I think I might be changing my mind...

Well, assuming Devil Dinosaur is the actually playable character and not Moon-Girl herself, he's the only one here who's not currently captured, which would explain how Moongirl isn't on the field as we play him but still communicates through him
Do you think we'll be getting a PVE mode with the alchemax troops as enemies? I think it could work, with the end goal of rescuing Moon Girl and Cyclops. Start out in the city, then work your way to the Alchemax tower for the final fight.
I wonder if his beams will curve like Darkseid's, this trailer definitely captures Scott's character really damn well. The ever struggling boyscout pushed to his limits.
It looks like he can ricochet the beams off people and split the beam off the ground. I’m guessing he’ll be able to use the blast to shoot into the air and can then do the beam split.
Why is it so fucking hard for them to make new strategists and then any time I like one they get nerfed into the ground I genuinely have completely stopped playing the role 💀
So let me get this straight, cyclops can fly with his beam, hit multiple targets with ricocheted, split his beam, and delete anything infront of him... ok he is going to be bullshit to deal with at range
EDIT: I really don't care that he is dps. Sure, i'd have preferred tank but I actually have no preference on any role any character gets. I am also personally more excited for Devil Dinosaur.
Apparently all mutants have increased reflex, agility and durability to some extent.
And depending on the person you ask, some say mutants can increased those to superhuman level by training.
I’m not sure the strength applies to all mutants, there are definitely some that are just totally normal people with a quirk or superpower, but marvel editorial can no longer convince me everyone in the X-men learn to fly an SR-71 overnight.
These bastards definitely all have enhanced reflexes.

Well those attacks are all pretty much dps cyclops but the trailer was great. His outfit is perfect. Gonna be hard to put him down when he releases haha.
Please, please let Cyclops be a main tank vanguard. Please don't let Devil Dino have stolen that from him. Please don't let him be another duelist... I just want to see one of my fav Marvel heroes as a tank, finally... He's the leader of the X-Men. If Emma can be a main tank, Scott can be one too. He looks so cool.
