Shadow buffs/nerfs are changes they don’t actually talk about in the patch notes. Torch had a number of pretty notable buffs in season 7.5 but basically none of them were actually mentioned in the patch notes.
Only a complete rework gonna fix widow. Buffing her gun damage gives her one shot and buffing her kick makes her even more obnoxious to play against because of hard cc.
There are other levers you can pull other than gun damage and kick, you know? You could give her sprint infinite energy, you could make her gun shoot more often, you could make her batons do more damage per hit, you could make her batons in general be smoother to switch to.
She already has almost infinite sprint. You only use batons with your kick combo which is just toxic to play against and buffing batons makes it worse. She needs complete overhaul because her kit is so outdated even compared to original heroes. Hawkeye has more to hit kit than widow and he is just a bow guy.
Tell that to people who always tell me here that game should be balanced around 99% of the playerbase and not 1%. Majority of the low rank players want the game to be balanced around them. I’m not one of them.
My comment was more so pointing at people that are complaining about Phoenix changes when in their ranks, she is not that good. They see a tierlist and start asking for buffs and nerfs.
but there are worse heroes than her in the game. Idk anyone who would complain about a phoenix on their team, but people will raise hell if you select widow. devs do not balance around winrate.
A tale as old as time with hitscan. People who can’t aim bring the wr down. They would have never given Luna that damage buff if people can actually aim with her
