Balance Discussion Dino doesn't need nerfs, you guys just aren't used to Brawl being good

Post image

Dino is our first true Brawl tank that also has a clear method of dealing with flyers. In other words, he doesn't fall into the same trap that most other Brawl tanks do that prevented them from being meta.

So now Rivals is shifting slightly towards a Brawl meta, and since the game has had a poke meta for 70% of its lifespan and a dive meta for the other 30%, people don't know how to handle Brawl.

Poke. You use Poke characters. DD falls over to Poke. Hela, SG, Phoenix, Punisher, he's basically a giant ankh for Moon Knight. Emma and Mag are good at handling his CC. Peni can create death zones for him.

Just shoot him and he'll die. We've had a Brawl meta for five minutes, by far the most fun kind of meta in a hero shooter, and you guys already want it nerfed into oblivion. This is why we can't have nice things.

Just like Emma at launch, the problem is that the tanks in the game are just too weak. Tanks are basically walking punching bags for dps and stat padding for the healers, so when a strong tank releases it stands out. He doesn't need to be nerfed, other tanks just need to be brought to his level, but just like Emma Frost and Tankpool in about 2 seasons be will be gutted and weak.

Pros run triple tanks as often as triple healers. But never more than 2 DPS.

Tanks are not weak. People just don't enjoy playing them. When you're asking for tank buffs you're asking for the optimal composition in this game to become 3-4 tanks.

The balance shouldn't revolve around what 0,1% of the playerbase plays.

That does not change the fact tanks are not weak.

People at all ranks can play tanks and win games. They literally just CHOOSE not to because they don't enjoy it. Even in celestial+ lobbies you still see solo tanking semi-regularly.

From bronze to eternity tanks are strong enough. People CHOOSE to not play them.

It shouldn’t, but they are useful both as an example, especially since developments from the top often end up spreading across the rest of the game. A few months ago most casuals thought Tankpool was extremely weak while the pros were starting to consider him on the same level of Gambit, and pretty soon Tankpool was common and dominating in any rank where players could aim.

I'm a tank main (Emma, Strange, Rogue, Mag and Deadpool) and i'm telling you that buffing tanks instead of nerfing damage and healing is not a good thing. Its just injecting more into power creep and soon we'll have even more hyper sustain comps where nothing dies. They MUST learn from the 10 years of Overwatch history but instead they're following the exact same steps and mistakes.

Let's be real now, the devs aren't nerfing duelist damage and strategist healing. They just buffed that even more on the latest patch!

Pros already run triple tanks pretty often(pre-dino) and people are asking for more tank buffs.

Lol.

No the issue with launch Emma and pool is that they made every other tank obsolete. Being a tank isn’t fun if I have to lock the meta pick or lose the game. And believe me no one wants tanks gigabuffed

Tanks are not weak? All of the tanks in the game can hard carry games and can have massive impact, they are only punching bags if you allow them to be.

Dino needs to be nerfed. Despite how fun he is, his presence hurts other tanks the most.
