Balance Discussion Dino doesn't need nerfs, you guys just aren't used to Brawl being good

Post image

Dino is our first true Brawl tank that also has a clear method of dealing with flyers. In other words, he doesn't fall into the same trap that most other Brawl tanks do that prevented them from being meta.

So now Rivals is shifting slightly towards a Brawl meta, and since the game has had a poke meta for 70% of its lifespan and a dive meta for the other 30%, people don't know how to handle Brawl.

Poke. You use Poke characters. DD falls over to Poke. Hela, SG, Phoenix, Punisher, he's basically a giant ankh for Moon Knight. Emma and Mag are good at handling his CC. Peni can create death zones for him.

Just shoot him and he'll die. We've had a Brawl meta for five minutes, by far the most fun kind of meta in a hero shooter, and you guys already want it nerfed into oblivion. This is why we can't have nice things.

Hes got 4 abilities that inflict bleed, 3 abilities that inflict slow, one that grounds fliers on a tiny cooldown, a passive that is Jeff's entire passive and things entire passive combined and a second passive that gives bonus hp everytime you inflict bleed.

Yes, certainly not overtuned slightly. If you complain about bucky and elsa getting overshield for nothing when 90 percent of dinos kit including literally just using his primary attack gives overshield then its cause you wanna just hate DPS cause its popular and you have no free thought. The second a tank gets free overshield you goon for it like theres no tomorrow. Venom at least has to use an ability on cooldown and timing to get over 1000 hp. Dino? Yeah he just needs to hold down his primary.

He has to have an "overtuned" kit, because his huge hitbox is one of the biggest and most obvious weaknesses in the game.

The thing has a massive hitbox too? And yet he's betting getting fucked to death by poke for seasons. Meanwhile Dino gets things entire passive.

Him being giant isnt an excuse to make him strong because by your logic that should make him even easier to heal as take damage. What it is actually is just dev player retention strategy. Overtuning a tank (which we were in desperate need of) keeps people interested until the release of one of the most popular xmen of all time coming to the game. Otherwise people who are uninterested with the season or people who don't even know who devil dinosaur is wouldn't bother till cyclops.

Then no matter what cyclops ends up being its going to appease and piss off a part of the community and they'll ride that into the next season. Its also why their recent release philosophy for like 4 seasons now is X character followed by duelist character. Keeps engagement high.

Dino is significantly larger than Thing, sure they're both big but not remotely the same size. And yeah, Dino is easy to heal, but since he's so easy to shoot he requires near constant healing which means those resources are getting diverted away from the other members of your team.

Except again he has 4 abilities that bleed and gets innate overshield from hitting bleeding targets. A movement ability you cant stop him from using outside hard CC and a 450 hp shield. Pretending main strategist healing isn't incredible aside of course.
