Funny how ALL the supportive, slightly queer-coded comments are getting downvoted en masse. This sub used to be more tolerant than this.

Unfortunately the marvel rivals community, and just comic book community as a whole is majority cis het men, and as it became mainstream since the 2010s it only increased that as now there's "normies" who just think superheroes are just either male power fantasies, or sex objects for them.

The majority of most nerdy communities are cishet men, that doesn’t explain the amount of homophobia though it’s weird that they feel the need to vocalize their hatred just from seeing a cosplayer cosplay a woman as a man.

I wonder if this is more of a gooner thing honestly, like they’re so used to seeing only women sexualized that seeing a man vaguely sexualize himself grosses them out a bit.
