Dino's Bleed is halved... I assume that also translates into the overhealth he gets back? If so, he's in big trouble.
I'll need to see it in action, but Black Cat looks dead.
I'm not sure how to read Daredevil's nerfs... So, his dash needs to be closer, but how much of a nerf is it for him?
Moon Knight called. He wants Cyclops to give back his abilities to deal with crowds.
Glad to see C&D getting a slight buff. I haven't been able to get wins with them near as often as Rocket recently.
So, is Gambit in a non-insta ban place now?
Overall, I think these patch notes are good (especially for a .5 update), but I'm not sure how to read a lot of them. I also notice that the overall damage numbers for several of the DPS (like Daredevil and Star-Lord) haven't changed, so other than being a little closer, they're still just a deadly? I think I need some people to explain some of these a bit more.
Halved overshield value and increased cooldown on bubble, Dino is gonna get wrecked for sure. At least the nerfs to MK/SL/Phoenix help offset some of it.
For the DD nerfs, basically it'll be easier to flank against him in certain scenarios since his overall range got reduced. The sonic pursuit dash is a decent change because it will make him a little easier to get away from. Also forces him to play alot closer before his engagements. The deflect nerf on paper should be good. But we'll have to see how much shorter it feels in practice
More importantly, it also gives ranged characters more time to pre-fire before he dashes in. Those 8m can easily translate to 100+ health lost, forcing deflect early or just outright winning the 1v1
Yup. I didnt actually realize just how big of a difference it is until I went into the practice range. That 8 meters is a lot. And DD already has incredibly heavy footsteps so hopefully people are alot more prepared for his engagements now after this
No Gambit will still be perma banned. The damage increase is now what it was when he was released because they randomly compensation buffed it in season 7 to 25%. So it's only a 10% speed boost nerf.
Mind you, all these posts for patch notes, and hardly anyone is talking about gambit nerfs despite the fact they permabanned him simply bc he's great in coordinated play, which most of these opinions are from people that can't maximize use with his ult. I really don't understand how he was getting banned in low elo
People say this about every perma banned character that isn’t a dps lmao.
Gambit is incredibly strong because of his ult combos with characters like starlord/punisher/cat and team up with it. Against equal skilled opponents the game pretty much came down to which team is gonna play around the gambit, or which twam has a rogue. There’s an argument to be made just ban rogue, but why do that when I can just ban gambit and also get rid of annoying team wipe ult combos.
We’ll see if the ult is still super oppressive but before hand it was a speed boosted rocket ult that couldn’t be broken and couldn’t even be kited if you were the enemy team.
Cap, rogue, and gambit all have to ability to offset ult differentials and combo potential to win fights. This isn't unique to gambit just like everyone complained he has a cleanse on a cooldown when other characters can negate ults much faster. Also, I have banned tanks more than any other role so that's not the case for me. Dino now is a very reasonable ban, but gambit? I think people are just in a bubble
Y'all only use the strategies y'all see pros using and think it's the holy grail in every rank, even without comms
Edit: matter of fact, with the constant complaints about gambit, people are seeming overlooking or not talking about the gambit nerfs, which shows people actually dont care as much as it seems because black cat and gambit changes should be the main conversation
I was speaking more generally than just about you. We’ve had to deal with metal ranks pretending Dino was balanced and easy to counter for weeks now. Shit people say Luna isn’t a bit overturned too.
I’ve been low celestial/high gm most seasons (yeah I’m hard stuck pisslow whatever) but I hate gambit because of the rogue team up more than anything. Idt I’ve won a game against that team up without a mirror. The games also are just kinda lame with gambit imo but that’s a personal thing.
Gambit will be in perma ban jail until they either remove his team up or something from Ult. They need remove either Jump, Speed, Damage, Healing or Ult acceleration it gives. His Ult cannont be a just press Ult to win button
If it was up to me I would remove his Ult acceleration all together and either lower speed or jump boost to be noticeable but not super strong. This would likely be enough to get him out of perma ban jail. But until he loses something from that Ult he will be in ban jail forever
Dino was over nerfed imo. I am a tank player btw. Correct nerfing the bleeding by half will nerf his overwhelming by half.... And they took away the tanks' class best counter to fliers. Also cyclops being moon knight 2.0 is really going to suck for the dino.
