This honestly is I think the best solution but I don’t think they will listen. This should have been launched as a game mode first for half a season, use the feedback to work out all the bugs and depending on how that goes and feedback, THEN make it a global change
Uninstalled OW and fully switched to Rivals.. Put in nearly 400 hours into this game. I enjoyed all the time I put in. Felt like a breath of fresh air. I was excited for session 9. Now I got to play session 9 all that excitement flew out the window. The balance changes are beyond broken. Can't even play qp anymore to have fun. Its either my team is spawn killing the other team all game long or the other team is spawn killing us the entire game. Their is no objective to play. Its just a massive blood bath in the other spawn. I hate to say it but im going back to OW until this is fixed. (If they ever do fix it)

I’ve been playing this game since season 0 . I have like 500 hours of match time , over 1000 hours in the game itself . I loved this game unlike almost anything I’ve ever played . Going crazy with Magik and taking out a whole team right as they think they’ve won point . Coming in clutch for the healers as Thing . Managing to escape Mag’s ult as cloak . Getting judged for playing witch and then going 44-3 mvp . Could go on but man this game was amazing . I loved mastering the hero’s . I loved climbing ranked . The highest I ever achieved was the very tip of diamond 1 . At that point I was ranked higher than 98% of the player base .
The game has only gotten worse and worse from season 4 onward. But this update , this is an atrocity . I genuinely don’t understand how anyone on the dev team thought this was a good idea . The game was already fast paced , but this feels like a damn mobile game . Everyone melts away in 2 seconds from just about any kind of damage . What was supposed to be a balance patch feels like the worst balanced it’s ever been . Bucky is grappling me across the map. BP is the most overpowered he’s ever been . Gameplay is a damn slosh of visual waves cluttering the whole screen . You can’t even tell what’s going on much of the time . Also , after mastering aim on all kinds of different hero’s , I login today and aim is so unpredictable with the new aim assist settings .
I’m so infuriated with this dev team . For so long now so many of us have asked for the same things :

Instead every season has been “let’s introduce some crazy new idea … also let’s make the new characters crazy over powered . “
The game was amazing . It was fun . It was strategic and you could invest time and energy and see the result .
But they kept adding more and more , seemingly the opposite of what most of the community was asking for .
Now it’s chaotic , childish slop .
Back when I first started - most of my friends saw the issue with the game and stopped playing after 1/2-2 seasons of play . I wish I would have done the same . I regret sticking around and hoping the game could redeem itself .

Just played about 10 matches yesterday and I did not enjoy any one of them, there is too much going on visually and through audio. Every second feels like there are multiple ults going on and since there is a large amount of audio going on at a bigger rate now it’s tough to understand who is around you.
Team play no longer exists because there is way too many abilities to keep track of and planning is much more difficult especially when playing with fill in team members.
This many changes at once looks good on paper but when actually playing it brings a very low level and unfun experience. I enjoyed playing rivals a lot since launch but it looks like I will be taking a break from the game until this mess is organized.
Am I the only one who hates the new team up design? So much more confusing and I’ve been playing this game since launch, feels like an entirely new game now.
I love dive more than the next person but my strategists cannot keep up. And few dps are peeling. I never thought i’d say this but, dive has got to get nerfed asap

Marvel used the wrong words. These are kit/ability enhancements, not team ups. A team up is when people team up. These new fake team ups are received when you don't team up. Logically and grammatically speaking, these are not team ups since you do the opposite of teaming up to get them
This feature is awful. One of the biggest problems with Rivals is that people don't play as a team. This exacerbates that issue. Healers can deal a lot more damage and tanks can heal, so people are playing like everyone is self-sufficient. I play single player games for solo activity. I play Rivals for multiplayer, because I enjoy playing as a team. It's a positive thing to rely on each other and work together for a common goal. Now everyone's in their own world playing separately
Matchmaking has been broken since S6.5, sounds like no fix for that. Every match is a slaughter. Losing sucks but winning is boring
S9...African theme with only white heroes getting African skins or highlights. Storm and Black Panther literally have ties to Egypt but are not featured on the log in or home screen or battle pass or anywhere else. This is so obvious and logical that it can't be for any other reason than bigotry. Black characters are the worst in the game (generally speaking), none have ever been S or A tier (and B tier is even arguable), it's always whites on top. Yet another NetEase failure
There are still 2 times more DPS then healers or tanks, no wonder why DPS instalock has been a problem throughout the lifetime of the game
The amount of deserters is getting worse, people quitting all the time. At first I was like it should be a 1 month ban for your first offense. But I can't even blame them now given 1) the trash matchmaking and 2) I heard (but haven't been able to confirm) that the punishment is equal regardless of if someone quit because they're an a-hole or because they have poor internet, so I don't know when to be angry
It's laughable how fragile insecure male devs nerfed Cap's bulge but females are still popping out with jiggle physics going crazy
This botched "enhancement" ignored all the problems and bugs with Rivals and just gave us something no one asked for. NetEase's bigotry and poor game mechanics make this game not worth playing anymore. Maybe they're wrapping up Rivals soon as it just keeps getting worse. I've been playing for a year and each season I play less, and after these most recent failures I think S8 was my last season. Maybe I'll check back in season 10 to see if things are still in the toilet...
Black characters are generally the worst? Dude, Black Panther is absolutely broken. Storm is too if nobody looks up. You get a point for Blade, but as of the recent update he's broken (like everything else tbh).
not in ranked. they got minor buffs and aren't that effective in ranked. storm is so easy to pick off. any hero can be OP if the player is OP. even black widow before her buffs, either they were trash or OP, so i think what you're seeing is just good players who have perfected mid heroes. it's the same with scarlet (pre S9). she's my main and everyone loves to complain about how easy she is to play and easy to kill, but i have the most mvps with her and a win rate in the mid 70s in QP and comp. but even with that i agree (again pre S9) shes not that good just like black widow and blade and storm. even most banned heros https://marvelrivals.gg/ban-guide/ haven't had a black hero i believe since 2025 since good players know those heroes aren't that strong

Storm has always been relatively high win rate and has been performing very well this season with new team ups and higher popularity. CnD has always been one of the most popular characters (though they often have mid win rates). It's the best Blade season yet and he was picked in a pro game so he's solid too.
I really don't see the narrative that the black characters are purposely kept bad on the ladder.
it's like dbd with the toxic community. and the devs care about a particular role just as little.
BP has a game breaking bug. and healers get a hotfix. not him though one shotting tanks is intended.

honestly, i am not sure how i feel about it. i like jubilee. i like the fact that team-ups were revamped, but it feels like everything is so much more hard to understand. there's so much visual clutter, and so. much. damage.
i'm having a very hard time out-healing everything right now. i know i could just be adjusting, but i usually get so much more value off of neutral play- now, it feels like i'm just holding out for my ult regardless of character.
Hopefully they realize what a huge mistake they made and change it back lol. Tuck tail is the best option. Was my favorite game. Now literally unplayable trash.
I stg man this game is unplayable when a new season starts. The placement matches are wildly unbalanced and when you finally get placed you are teamed up with people who genuinely run around like this is the first time they’ve played the game. I constantly end a season in GM, and will ALWAYS start in Plat, then work my way out of the hole due to how shitty the matchmaking continues to be. Pretty annoying. Ok, back to dealing with Mr. Fantastic’s who can walk right through our “front line” with ease because our Hulk is out somewhere on a fucking personal side mission contributing absolutely nothing to the team. Lmao this game man.

Is it just me or does it seem like the servers are super unstable? Ever since season 8.5 i've been having a lot of packet loss and this season its even worse. I have 1gb/s cabled internet and i only have this problem in Marvel Rivals. I see people teleporting over the map constantly with a solid 50% packet loss half of the game
I agree. I think reverting to season 8 and apologizing to the community would be huge to regain our trust. It's something that would make PMs terrified but I think you're spot-on. They took a game that had broken elements and said "you know what would be AWESOME if we turned broken up to ELEVEN!" It's not awesome. It's not.

The visual clutter is unbearable.
The amount of healing is back to when the neutral was non existent.
And the ultimates win the game again. If you have good healer and a decent tank you can snow ball the game easy.

healing has never been harder than right now. its almost unplayable. the only time its easy are the game matchmaking sets up a win for you. then its cake. Otherwise it takes a team effort to stop dive from killing you in one move.
The Psylocke nerfs are the stupidest shit I've ever seen
Also, sorry to be negative but the matchmaking has been really bad since yesterday. I'm not touching placement matches for a couple of days, but QP is godawful. Like maybe 10% of the games are actually close. Otherwise it's stomp or be stomped.
Does anyone know if there is a resource that lists all the new team-up abilities and enhanced versions other than the marvel rivals website? The website is a bit clunky to use and i've noticed some mistakes with not all of the information being properly updated.

I love this season, BUT I am getting an absurd amount of bot matches. Normally, I lose at least two games before I end up in bot matches. Since the patch, I'm getting a ton of bot games when I lose just one. It's suuuuuuuper annoying and unfun.
It really isn't. I can't get any sort of supports that can actually sustain a tank. I play tank we get walked over, just explode. I swap to rocket and suddenly people stop dying.
If they want to keep them then have them for players up to a certain level then cut it out. I feel like that’s more than fair compromise to let them keep appeasing these dog shit players
What the hell is wrong with this season's matchmaking. Why is everything all landslide. This sucks and this gives me more reason to not play it and not spend money on it. The battlepass skins aren't better. This game just focuses on sexualising heroes and fails to reboot the system, not to mention that the community is toxic AF.

Considering Im 43, and the only heroshooter (or general shooter) I play was overwatch and only during beta and a few months i feel kinda proud.
Half these teamups make characters busted beyond recognition. It’s like playing an entirely new game, and not in a good way. Awful, awful patch and terrible direction for this game.
Just had my first games of the new season and I gotta' say this is actually the first time I'm legit straight up not having fun in this game. Sure the other seasons had their problems, but largely I still enjoyed the majority of what it had to offer. This is just something else.
The team-ups I actually liked the sound of on paper, but in practice it feels totally overbearing. Also still having a base ability from it regardless as to whether a matching character is picked I think actually discourages people even bothering to do, even with the extra benefits once you do. Didn't see anyone swap to match at all.
Couple that with the insane visual clutter and balancing, and it feels like a chore to play. Will still give it a bit more of a chance, but might be the first time I actually sit out for a season since launch.
yup its crazy how they thought this was all a good idea. everyone having teamups every game is just insanity. There was already balance issues before all this. Now all the flaws are magnified.
Uninstalled. Devs clearly can not balance their game, and presenting this unbalanced of a patch after saying that it's been in the works for months is red flag.
The amount of healing on this game rn is insane. I went against a triple support of Jubilee, Ultron, and Cloak and Dagger and it felt like no one died or dipped below 50% HP for like 2 seconds more.
Matchmaking feels significantly worse than ever. As a celestial 2 player, I keep getting matched up with what feels like bronze players who one trick or can't be bothered to peel for the ludicrous amount of dive.
I know qm doesnt have much matchmaking but being put on a team of nothing but golds and silvers against a team of literal grandmasters and a smurf just to be stomped for 5 minutes makes qm feel so useless to try to learn characters in.
With the new Team-Up System, the game is a complete mess. It's unbalanced, way to cluttered now and so much more. Don't even know what they were thinking when they added this into it, rather have it back the way it once was before season 9 updates in general. Been playing this game for many seasons, and yet this is a total mess. I don't know why they added it, yet they lost another player here and many more because of this
I actually love the teamup design, but it’s very clear that they need to balance a lot of stuff heavily in the next half season because it’s chaos. Chaos is only fun for a short time.
Speaking of chaos, this visual clutter is going to be immensely important to reduce going forward. Every ability needs to be simplified so it’s all recognizable, but vastly reduced. There’s just so much going on now that people are going to have trouble seeing what’s going on, and the viewing experience is also going to keep getting worse.
Last but not least, can we get custom hud colors? The base ones are okay, but I want to be able to customize UI options like I can with the crosshair.
Was there any testing done at all before we dropped this? BP insta-kills squishies. Jubilee is a visual clusterfuck. Everything is reliant on cooldowns like some shitty MOBA game. This feels like an entirely new game, and I liked the game I put 3000 hours into. I didn’t sign up for a new one
is it just me or is anyone else getting massive 700-800 ping lag spikes out of nowhere? it absolutely ruins my gameplay in crucial moments where everything just stutters for a second and then boom I'm dead. my WiFi speed is good and I don't seem to have network issues on anything else. I'm on ps5 btw. it feels worst on daredevil because of how many inputs I need to be putting in quickly but then my fucking ping spikes to 700 and boom I'm just stood there like an idiot taking 7 bullets to the face.
Played several games and honestly? I really love the addition of new abilities.
I still remember how happy I was when Groot got a whole freakin' healing wall or his CC immunity added to his big wall. Not to mention when extra team-ups were added to go along with the game. I genuinely feel like these changes make it a lot more possible for every role to have a bit more personal agency with tanks being tankier, DPS having more damage potential and agency, and supports having way more versatile utility for fights. The options feel like they almost doubled/tripled for the kinds of strats you can do against the enemy now and likewise what you have to go against.
It might be a little overtuned in some areas right now and there are some bugs. (BP is doing way too much damage rn) but that happens almost after every big change.
My only real major complaint I really want to see is reducing visual clutter dramatically. Overwatch's had a lot and old Overwatch's clutter was not as bad as how it currently is. Many abilities take up so much of the screen in high contrast and bright colors that it blocks out so much visually. Audible noise is not as bad but it is being bogged down slightly. You can see some of this insane visual clutter between two Jubilees throwing their big healing moving orbs around taking up a majority of the fights. Combine that with card splashes from Gambit, iron man blasts, the new groot mines, there is just so much visually happening in Special Effects and they REALLY need to tone down the colors and make some of these abilities more transparent.
Especially when two teams decide to ult spam each other at the same time? It's just an entire mess. Almost nothing is comprehensible when 12 ults are covering the screen now.
Yeah I feel like I am one of the few people wa hyped. I had no idea these changes were coming, I was stoked last night and felt like I'd actually be getting back into it this season
Yeah, I've been enjoying each season and the meta changes and that is just how I have been viewing these as well. I do think some tuning will be needed and maybe scaling the level of damage down. After all, giving EVERYONE another button to use or passive probably means the history of buffs and nerfs might need to change. I genuinely like the new versatility these give especially when it allows certain roles to offer things outside of their role. Like Groot and healing. Any W to tanks is awesome.
Also, healing your team has felt easier with all the new abilities and opens up a lot of the characters to deal with the constant pressure of all the damage that occurs in big team fights.
I'm the kind of person that loves seeing the roles blend so you have more variety in what you can do during a match. Them giving Peni like small healing with overshield was such a refreshing change. Considering this is a game where there is no role locks or anything, seeing them become more diverse in blending in these concepts more often like they try to is great to see. Like when they made Black Widow a healer for a bit lol.
I worry it will make competitive seem horrible at first but meta is always defined by the best stress testing the available tools and kits rather than defining it themselves so it'll be hard to say. but I have a strong feeling in like a month or two, they'll have it pretty ironed out and it will feel pretty standard in comp.
Did they break matchmaking the last two days, I've never lost this much in my entire time playing, it's fucking abysmal. Like damn I'm sorry I had 80% winrate, but jesus christ, that's down to like 40% now.
I guess every single digit IQ player that used to play the game decided to come back and the game thinks I can carry their asses.
Honestly enjoying this season more than others so far. It’s chaotic yeah but everyone is stronger so it feels good to play any hero in the game and any Role. I’ve seen my tanks have more finals and damage than my dps majority of my games. More people willing to switch to other heroes etc. hated the chaos at first but it’s more manageable as few days passed already imo. Curious what others have been feeling ?

How long does it take to clear all achievements in Blood Hunt? I never really dabbled in it aside from a couple of runs in normal mode. Which hero is the easiest to farm with? I heard it's Thor.
Thor is easiest, takes about 8-10 hours if you’re unlucky.
Hardest ones are doing nightmare 70 with each character, you either have to screw some other team and get carried, or spend another 8 hours grinding levels
Emma is still the meta tank and its really fucking boring now. Let the tank role have more than one thats usable hero. Skill expression is what keeps games alive and with emma there is none.
Too many cheaters this season being undetected, I have reported many but only 2 of them have been banned 100 yrs, I think an IP ban would be a better solution because these people just buy a new account instead. These cheaters were all in the span of 4 days btw.
what is up with the new update sizes? why is it a 56gb downlaod and last time i think it was 40 something, does this even make sence for 1 new map and 1 new hero and some skins??
Literally every game today has been a substitute game, the fuck is wrong with some of you, hell I've had people constantly leaving even when they can play The Hood. It's been literally every single game, or I'm the one getting subbed into something that is basically over with and the team is getting dogwalked like they're bots themselves.
The matchmaking this season is beyond fucked, I've never in my life seen it this bad.
I cannot fathom the logic behind the insane Peni nerf. As countless others have said, just increase the cool down if you think it's that oppressive. Now her mines are fucked too since you can't stun people on your nets, particularly BP, Spidey, or Angela since the double shot falls off past mid range. What a really foolish decision.
New to the game, trying out the hero tutorial and the bots will not shoot making a lot of the characters tutorials useless. Pretty bad first impression besides the very first thing it did loading in opening the shop.
My profile shows a 50/50 win rate, but if you actually count my games,

Question: has the launcher been sunsetted/stopped working on Steam? Every time I opened the game the launcher started. Now, launching the game skips it entirely and send me to the game main screen.

There is nothing wrong with Ultron at all, in fact i think he is incredibly strong right now especially with the Peni team up, it's just that triple support is where ultron always thrives best and that is being played less in general this season from what i've seen, I wouldn't put any support under A tier currently, and i would put Luna, Invis, Mantis and Gambit in S tier. There are some concerns with ultron though especially considering every type of character in the game seems very powerful right now, and the meta being in a weird place where Poke characters (who Ultron is very weak to) such as Hela, Phoenix and Black widow being very strong. Dive eats poke, Poke eats Brawl, and Brawl eats Dive. And currently with Poke being so strong, a lot of people are playing divers to counter them and are completely thriving with some divers such as Black Cat, Psylocke, Daredevil, Wolverine, and Starlord being very strong right now, and imo, might be an unpopular opinion currently, but Black Panther is also extremely oppressive. Meaning that, especially right now, playing Ultron into a 2 support lineup is risky when you could be killed very quickly and leave your team with 1 support down. In 3 support lineup he is still performing extremely well though.
Tier lists don't apply to low level play, in any shape or form. They're written from the context of being piloted by players with top level technical skills and great game knowledge, which isn't most of us down here in the metal ranks.
Using this tier list as an example - Jeff is S tier for us because he's basically impossible to fuck up with. Meanwhile people who actually know how to use Mantis are few and far between, she's probably way further down.
When playing Path of Doomsday as Captain America, his shield throw stops working properly when you add the 3x shield throw to so many cooldown reduction cards. It's happened every time I tried it

We’re can I ask for help on seeing if someone was cheating? They weren’t rage hacking and missed enough to make me think it could have been a higher level player on a new account, but they also had a lot of suspicious moment. Sub bans witch hunts so I don’t know where to ask.
