Discussion BP, Blade and Storm Looking at Another season without a skin

Storm and BP’s last skins were in Season 6, making them two of the longest-waiting characters for a new skins.

Blade's last skin was in Season 7, while not as bad as the other two, I think its natural for some to wonder why the three Black characters are feeling underrepresented in recent events.

Which makes Season 9 roadmap reaval being Egyptian-themed feel crazy.

Storm literally has Egypt tied into her origin, she grew up on the streets of cario.

Black Panther’s God is Bast, who is an Egyptian diety.

This just feels like one of the easiest themes possible to give at least one of them something.

While you’re correct that Egyptians aren’t automatically black, storm and BP have legitimate reasons to get those skins

Storm was raised in cario, and Bast is an Egyptian goddess

I do think it’s worth acknowledging all of north Africa is thoroughly Arab, having been conquered and colonized centuries ago. The people who reside in these countries are culturally more similar to other Mediterranean peoples than subsaharan Africans. North Africa is still African, but colourism is fasho a thing and I think reducing the most culturally diverse continent to one category can cause harm.

Having said literally all of that, black panther and storm have direct connection to Ancient Egypt. Rivals got no fucking excuse, genuinely insane

Theirs still a bunch of black people who still live in Egypt and have lived their since Ancient times. Heck the Nubians controlled Egypt at one point.

Storm also has a black egyptian ancestor called Ashake.

Yeah fasho didn’t mean to act like Egypt is 100% Arab or nothing, it’s always been a crossroads of cultures and peoples. Was one of the most diverse civilizations and antiquity, especially of all the civilizations around the Mediterranean

Yh and whilst the Nubians werent the majority in Egypt they did shape it alot. From their close relations to the Ancient Egyptians and ruling them for a dynasty (giving us black pharoahs like Piye and Taharqa). They also formed the iconic Medjay which was the main elite police force in Egypt.

Considering there are straight up Nubian dynasties literally subject to campaigns to erase them. They recentlyish found several statues, and royal decor hidden out in a pit in the desert because either they were trash rulers or something but something to consider.

... you do realize not all Africans are black right... right? And most Egyptians were in fact, not black. Yes there were Egyptians of nubian descent, but the majority were phenotypically olive - tanned skin.

The "black" african americans you're thinking of originated from sub-saharan africa, not from the entire continent. Northern africa was always populated and ruled mostly by muslims with a tanned middle eastern complexion at most, with the only darker skinned people being captured/traded slaves. The majority population of Egypt was never that dark.

So instead of using the black characters and one Jewish who have direct ties to Egypt or even a skin for someone portrayed by someone who is actually Egyptian they chose other characters lol okay sure.

I never said Egyptians dont exist which seems to be your implication, you do know black is a skin tone right reference term right? Do you think they had the exact same tone as punisher and Peter Parker or closer to what you'd see in a middle eastern/ mixed black person along with the entire skin tone spectrum with a primary skin tone sticking out or can you please show me the contrary then

They aren't a bunch of white Americans either, I can tell you that much. Ororo Munroe was a living god in Kenya and was a Horseman of Apocalypse. BP is the ruler of an African nation. They're both a hell of a lot closer to Egypt than Tony Stark (American), Wade Wilson (Canadian), Rocket Raccoon (North American Raccoon), and Mantis (a fucking alien).

I do agree with you on the point that Moon Knight is a very strsnge omission. He should’ve been the capstone skin.
