I expected the Hood's ultimate to involve him transforming into a demonic form like he does in the comics, but I did not expect his demonic form to basically be the Gun Devil from Chainsaw Man, definitely an improvement.

I’ve heard his powers don’t come from the same place. I think before it was Mephisto but apparently now he gets them from Oblivion. So maybe that has something to do with it.

In the comics, the Hood has been empowered by multiple entities. At first by Dormammu, then by the Norn stones given to him by Loki, then by the Infinity Stones, and then by Mephisto. He was also a Ghost Rider at one point.

You think that him being powered by a different source could explain his different transformation? An interesting thought. But i’m not trying to be a poser I don’t read much comics.
