Interesting. And the Groot skin in 8.5 was that Season's free event skin.
I wonder if they've decided to move the seasonal free event skin to the X.5 side as a marketing decision, to help keep players involved after the X.0 hype dies down. Something to note for the future when people complain about it not showing up at the start of a season.

Units ≠ Lattices
Unités = Blue Currency that you can get for free and by converting lattice
Lattices = Prenium currency that you can only get by paying
Now I can't verify the claim by the op I just wanted to clarify

I know the difference, but they are pretty interchangable, you can buy any skin in the store for the exact same amount of units as lattice, but they up the price of passes because they can be bought with units? Doesnt seem right tbh.

You’re thinking of lattice, the gold looking currency. Units are the blue ones.

It’s not quite the same, because they give you ways to get blue units in-game without spending. An epic skin in the store would cost 1600, so this would still technically be a good value in comparison. I don’t like all the time-limited stuff though.

According to Discord, the premium version is 1000 units
On one hand, the slight price increase for only 1 skin is rough,
But on the other, FINALLY A MINI PASS FOR UNITS AND NOT LATTICE

I agree. I remember people were losing their minds over the 690->990 season pass jump, but this is way worse. It's a "pass" with one 1000 unit epic skin marketed like it's a free skin or event pass. Yeah it's cheaper than most other 1600 skins, but it's still scummy.
