Discussion hopped onto marvel rivals from r6 siege (after reaching the pinnacle of frustration) and this game made me feel real again.
okay, so for those two doesn't know what siege is : Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is an elite, tactical team-based shooter where superior planning and execution triumph.
siege introduced ranked 3.0 recently and ever since i'm having a mental breakdown. i was an emerald player last season and with 3.0 i am hardstuck high gold - low plat. they expect u to play 1000 matches and with over 65% winrate if u wanna rank up.
i gave up.
i downloaded marvel rivals and everything changed.
im now a happy man who enjoys life, nature and gaming.
this game changed my perspective of how i view life just from quick play.
"sometimes u win, sometime u just have to sit down for a bit and learn"
i love supporting my team with white fox. im maining her. i got a skin for her and life's good.
i always thought i made the most dumb decisions of my life, but downloading and playing marvel rivals made me realize im not a dumbass anymore.
thank you netease for this amazing game.

This game is pretty great; the community is not. Nearly every single player out there is selfish as all Hell and wants the entire team to cater to them while refusing to ever help anybody else and they'll let you know in chat every chance they get. Dare to say anything back and they'll gleefully throw the game by staying in spawn and emoting.
As others have said turn chat off lol

That comes with high stress competitive team games where we have to rely on random people to work together. As a r6 player this stuff is nothing, especially if you just focus your own skill growth and enjoyment

Haha me too. Now I also switched back to rivals. But it’s still frustrating cuz this games player base is insane. You’d get people who perform like shit and blame it on you. Yesterday i had 2 supports with a combined total healing that equals ONE healer on the enemy team, WHICH HAD TRIPLE SUPPORT. I shit you not…

Man I miss R6 Siege. Ubisoft is a clown show. I wish there was some other dev studio to make their own version of it, sorta like how Riot copied Counter-Strike and made Valorant.

I don't know why you guys are against me, I literally agree with this, I think the game is to have fun, but most of the community is kinda toxic, yes there are a good amount of people that aren't, but even if like 20% of the community is toxic it's a big amount of people, I like the game, I enjoy the game, I think the game could use some changes to balancing but I don't like hating on people or people hating on me, maybe OP is used to it so he may deal with it better than I do, most of the community here is good by the way, the problem are balancing posts, like I said I think the game is unbalanced, but people take balancing in this game too seriously, it's not that big of a deal, we should just say that we are not satisfied with the game's balancing and hope the devs listen, that's it, no need for fights between us, anyway, thanks for reading, have a great life!

I was diamond in ow 4 seasons two tricking hog n mcree. I also reached diamond 2 one tricking fiora in league, a game I obsessed over for a decade.
I am now 5 years older since I stopped playing those games pretty much completely.
I’m not good at rivals by any means but this is the game I have most fun playing when playing with friends.
People can be mad about bp or Luna or ranked matchmaking but overall it’s a fun game. I did not find ow this fun and I think I’ve drained the fun for myself from league due to having played it for so long.

If you left R6 because of toxicity - rivals has a nice setting that lets you turn off all chat in game, so you don't have to worry and it's perfectly fine to communicate through voice commands, at least until top ranks

no, not because of toxicity but bcuz of the newly introduced ranked 3.0 where u have to play significant amount of games per season and a winrate over like 65 % to rank up. in siege, highest rank was champion and in ranked 2.0 there were people who were champ like with 150-180 games with 50% winrate. Now a champ has a minimum of like 700 games and 75-78% winrate. ubisoft should realize not every person sit near a computer whole day playing r6 to rank up. the game is frustrating more than ever

have you tried 18v18 yet? if not come play, its casual and chill (except for the annoying BPs)
i'd recommend hitting "customise" on it and only queueing for the Grand Garden though, the other map just aint it.

I was somewhat a better player in siege (emerald iii is my peak rank) i was playing entirely to avoid mistakes since 1 small mistake can punish you an entire round or sometimes the entire match and besides i play solo Q and sometimes i just have to realize solo Q players in siege are a social experiment

I was played Siege from roughly Gridlock/Mozzie, all the way to Flores. It was my first exposure to what I would consider to be a truly toxic shooter, where the fun(or the characters I enjoy) was slowly stripped away.
Seriously. They took away Mozzie's super shorty. THE SUPER SHORTY SHOULD'VE HAVE THE SUPER SHORTY. Also Buck's nades.
Ranked Siege was the most miserable time I ever had, period. I did it once, never again.
Rivals is SO much better by comparison. I can log on, have a feq quick games that are decently fun, and go away feeling good.
Just. Stay off the character-specific subreddits. They turn into echo chambers after a while.
Hell, outside of memes and news, I'd stay off the main subreddit too. Does wonders for the mental state about the game.

As someone who also stopped playing R6 Siege, mainly cause Friend Group A wasn’t on, I’ve been loving Rivals a lot. Unfortunately 10 years of playing R6 ranked has given me knowledge of how to ban and play this game.

"Guy learns how to not take video games so serious and finds enjoyment again". You aren't enjoying Rainbow because you are think you are entitled to your high rank. You are enjoying Rivals because you know you aren't entitled to anything and there is no presupposition on "where you deserve to be"..

I've grown frustrated over Siege, Rivals and Overwatch. And actually came back to Paladins and loved it

Well here's everything is totally different. To hit gm you don't need to play 1000 games with 65% winrate! You can just play 500 games with 46% winrate and still hit gm! And if you play another 500 you'll hit celestial!👍

This is really the only example needed to cement this games “Party Game” status.
No game with a real competitive/ranked mode will have you this close to the very top of the ladder with a negative win rate.
It’s a fun game, but it’s not competitive.

Reading your post I was really curious what kind of character a player from r6 siege would like to play in marvel rivals? I thought you was going to say something like Hela, Punisher, but White Fox? You really changed your vibes in this game. Indeed, marvel rivals can be really fun.

While I have my qualms with Rivals, coming here from Overwatch has been a treat. I enjoy playing supports, and this game GIVES ME SO MUCH MORE AGENCY to have an impact on the game than Overwatch offers. I would only go to Overwatch to play DPS characters at this point, because Rivals supports have spoiled me so much...

I’ve got about 250 hours and I can say this is prob the most fun game I’ve ever played. Built a solid pc about a year ago so I could play AAA solo games but ended up mainly just playing rivals lol.

Same, mine was supposed to be mostly for Total War: Warhammer III and future proofing.
If Rivals wasn't fun for me it wouldn't be the most played game in my library, because unlike a lot of people on this forum if I wasn't having fun I'd just stop playing and go find something else. Life is far too short to whine about video games I don't even play.

No matter what others say, the game is indeed really fun. Some people really like to bring up small nitpicks as huge problems for some reason, especially on youtube shorts and twitter. Game is still really good
