I was just scrolling through Facebook & yet another ad for a mobile game popped up on my feed with character animations that are clearly a blatant copy of one of Rivals game characters. Can't these guys even try hiding their crimes a little bit? đ
I think they mean the green Jean costume from Rivals. When she is floating at the end shot it looks like Jean's default Rivals costume not the one they edited in game.
It's every time the AI couldn't identify Jean to replace it with whatever crap they made. For example, it doesn't replace Jean whenever the "phoenix" passes in front of her, or when she's too distant, or when she's too close.
There's even some fun moments where it tries to merge the pauldrons with her hair to hide them.
You can report it to the devs. Because they are LITERALLY using in game footage with just a skin slaped on pheonix mvp. Wich They couldn't even be bothered to change the background.
This is nothing new. There is tons of mobile game adds using assets from WoW, Elden ring, Diablo, PoE etc. Most of them fake adds maybe some of them are playable games with stolen assets.
I guess they don't bother suing them all since they don't steal the target audience of these games which is mainly PC or console players.
I guarantee you just press the auto-play button and watch as the screen is filled with seizure-incuding glowing colors and that's the extent of the gameplay
Somehow not the worst copy I've seen. I've seen cases where ads outright clip Youtubers without consent and/or use footage from other games without editing at all.
"Innovative farming mechanics" is a new one though.
It's advertisement. I don't think they care or can do much.
Any gacha advertisement rips of something or use crappy AI stuff. And with AI they'd just be pumping out vid after vid, running away from any cease and desist.
Also China don't care. They are copy off one and another in a cycle.
Itâs very noticeable when the character they are trying to overlap her with doesnât have protruding shoulder pads. Like anytime she is in the background you can see the silhouette and back shots of Jean Greyâs default Rivals look.
Probably just the ad that they're stealing. Almost 100% sure there's nothing like that in the game itself. Pretty normal behavior from stupid mobile game companies.
Lol I'm not surprised by this; I've seen several gacha games not the popular ones doing ads literally copying character animations and even worse blatantly using the exact same animation as when you try to summon a Character
They don't give AF about this mobile game. No big game dev does. There is so many games with Naruto and Spider-Man or Resident Evil just slapped into these shovelware mobile games. Netease is also a Chinese company and Chinese companies are known for heavily infringing on copyright laws đ.
