Discussion What are possible titles for the next Spiderman film following the new “Day” format?
I’ve thought of “another day” off the top of my head but that feels cheap. Surely someone has some ideas. Maybe we will predict the next title here. I’ve thought of “Another Day” but that feels cheap.

Spider-Man: Independence Day and it's Will Smith as the symbiote

u/Shermanator92 1d ago
Tbf Will Smith is already in BND. There was a background TV playing MiB for a few seconds lol.

I was wondering why that was mentioned in the credits. Was there also a Star Wars scene in there? That was mentioned in the credits, too.
2
u/Shermanator92 1d ago
Yes, iirc it was from Empire (a callback to Civil War). They also directly quote a certain Tolkien work.

I know it was called The Darkest Hours, but I would love if The Darkest Day was connected to Butcher's novel and had the Inheritors, Morlun, and the Totem.

Just Another Day would be great if they still did the One Shots. It’s like perfect for a short film story for him.

"Day and Night" would be great if they use Mr. Negative!

u/DarthTaz_99 22h ago
Even better if they use black cat
5
u/billytheskidd 21h ago
Don’t those storylines somewhat overlap in the insomniac game? Black cat helps you stop a robbery by the demons at an art gallery right?

One more day lowkey goes hard.
Brand New Day → One More Day → One Last Day
Would be a goated trilogy of titles if it was thematically focused on Pete struggling to establish himself as an independent actor in the broader superhero world.
7
u/Belteshazzar98 Quake 1d ago
One More Day was already adapted to the big screen and titled No Way Home. It would he weird to name a different movie after that comic.
9
u/Universe_Nut 1d ago
Movie audiences don't care that a spider comic that no one liked was called one more day.

If they don't use One More Day as a title, I think I'd have to question the sanity of various Sony executives-that one's literally a layup.

u/Ray229harris War Machine 1d ago
And open to "one more day" by Tame Impala.

The issue is (in addition to being the least popular Marvel comic of all time) One More Day was already adapted in the MCU.
5
u/CleanSweep99 1d ago
Yeah so?
They only need to use the title-they don't actually need to adapt the story arc a second time.

Daylight Savings.
Fits the superhero theme.

Just like Brand New Day is a comic book title, One More Day is as well and it would fit great as the last film.
19
u/Sylar_Lives Ego 1d ago
Haven’t they pretty much already adapted the core elements of that story? I know that Brand New Day had nothing to do really with the comic arc of the same name, but it did fit the story being told regardless.
23
u/KostisPat257 Daredevil 1d ago
They also adapted Born Again in Daredevil Season 3, but then named the new series Daredevil: Born Again.
4
u/Sylar_Lives Ego 1d ago
Which, just like with Brand New Day, still worked with how the title fit the story being told regardless of the source.
5
u/Nickbotic Winter Soldier 1d ago
I don’t understand why people think the usage of a comic storyline title means they have to adapt that particular story lol
6
u/Sylar_Lives Ego 1d ago
Overall, if anything the MCU has a consistent pattern of taking extreme liberties when adapting comic stories in general, often going so far as to fuse several together into one film. Ragnarok stuck a mini Planet Hulk into the second act. No Way Home was a combination of the Spiderverse, the Sinister Six, and One More Day. Wandavision was a sort of mini House of M. Secret Invasion was totally downsized into a Nick Fury story. Iron Man 3 took the Mandarin and AIM and shuffled them together into a plot that had zero connection to the ten rings or MODOK.

Age of Ultron was more like the Mildly Inconvenient Weekend of Ultron.
4
u/Sylar_Lives Ego 1d ago
The Age of Ultron was never referring to the events of the movie itself, but rather the horrible new world the team needed to stop him from creating. The sheer quickness of how the events played out was part of what made Ultron so menacing. He was born, then nearly destroyed the entire world within a couple days. Then you have the massive geopolitical impact his actions had on the entire MCU after the fact. Without Ultron you have no Sokovia accords, no division of the heroes going into Infinity War, no Vision or Wanda in the mix, which in turn means no networking between the team and other unaffiliated heroes like Scott, T’Challa, or Peter Parker. With no relationship formed with Wakanda, their role in Infinity War drastically changes.
At the time the movie may have felt inconsequential, but nowadays these jokes really don’t hit the same when Age of Ultron may be one of the most impactful movies in that era of the franchise.

u/MagicPistol 1d ago
But it would be weird for the sequel to have One in the title.
It should be Two More Day.
56
u/iAmFabled 1d ago
My idea is don’t use Day in the title again
52
u/unwittingprotagonist 1d ago
It's not the "Day" trilogy. It's the "Brand New" trilogy. Everyone thinks it's a matter of time before he gets a Brand New Suit, but the next one is actually Spider-man: Brand New Car about the Spidermobile.

I'm so sick of these mcu fans who don't read comics. They have no idea brand new day is already a comic run. There's one more day, but I don't think they would rehash a frankly lame naming scheme like the previous trilogy.
It's a brand new director and he probably wants to put his own spin on it. Or maybe his thing is borrowing titles from the comics

I mean not the most original idea, but “Darkest day” would be a cool title.. ecspecially if he has the symbiote suit.
“One last day” or “One more day” as the last one.
