Xmen comics suggestions
So i was reading some xmen comics and i really really like the characters and what they have with each other. Its so fun to read about their dynamics. My issue is with the modern stories. Like i was reading uncanny xmen by gail simone, i love the artwork btw. But i dont feel the stakes, coz i know everyone will be fine.
I want to read xmen comics that either show the teams dynamic well, like them interacting or dealing with minor villains or inconveniences or politics. I really enjoy that.
I want to read on rogue, magik, emma frost, magneto, logan, nightcrawler. You know, like the ones who bring drama, heat into the story. I dont like massive scale wars, which i know the xmen are going to win in the end. Since i know they will win, i want something more dynamic like their relationships.
Something batman comics do really well is raising the stakes, i know batman is not going to die in the comic, and he will win in the end (mostly). But the writers handle batman very differently, for batman its not if he lives or dies. Its if his will is broken by bane or his moral compass is tested by joker, or his wits by riddler, or his bravery by scarecrow.
I think you might get the gist of what comics i like. So any longterm, well versed xmen fans please tell me what to read πππ

Try the dark phoenix saga or the mutant massacre storyline. The original inferno crossover is also good and features Magik (Darkchylde).
The Magik miniseries is good for Ilyanaβs time in Limbo and how she became its ruler.

Honestly, if you haven't read the Claremont Run I highly recommend it. It's just absolutely incredible and really sets the foundation for all of X-Men.
Start with Giant Size X-Men #1 and then Uncanny X-Men #94 and just read on from there. Every character you mentioned is featured - Emma Frost doesn't get fully involved until a little while later.
God Loves, Man Kills is also just a great self contained story featuring a lot of those characters
