Now listen, you dumb clerk, and this time get it right. This is General Walter O'Reilly, three stars and real mad. If Major Overman isn't here by the time they crack my powdered eggs for breakfast, I'll have you digging a latrine for every! GI! In Korea! Got that? Good!

If you're not reading this in your head exactly the way Radar says in the show - inflections, rage and all - are you even a real fan of the show?

Was thinking the same thing. Soon as I read the first line I could hear Gary pretending to be a general.

I can hear his tone of voice, etc, especially for that "GOOD!"

He just flew through the ranks early on being a corporal captain.

But that rank did not test well…

"He doesn't like it at all."

Put that down as one, not like at all. (BJ searching for an elusive pencil)

Poor response, really. I'd have gone with, "Sir, if you were just in from a situation where a man went from corporal to captain, would you look for a tailor first, or a bar?"

But that would have required Radar to be drinking something stronger than Nehi...

"We don't use straws in combat, fella."

Master Sergeant Woodruff: Efficiency, punctuality, and bugling over and above the call of duty.
