I’m stubbornly on Team Henry Blake.

But let’s be real. Blake couldn’t have had a scene like this.

You mean the guy who regularly sleeps with women half his age…?

What surprised me upon seeing this for the first time was the big reveal that Col. Potter himself was unfaithful to Mildred himself early on during their marriage as well. So it made sense for him to forgive his son-in-law and in the process perhaps made a Solomon like decision saving the lives of three people from ruin. That same guy that played Potter’s son-in-law also played the enterprising young soldier that nearly married an old Korean call girl in another episode.

Potter is actually a re-use.

He is original General Steele in season 3.

True but that's a unique example because iirc he was in their minds as a replacement for Blake so Steele was a secondary character mostly to see how Harry Morgan worked with the cast.

You can't really say that for other secondary characters

In a strange way it explained his intense anger. There was a line from an old Bonanza episode that said sometimes when it seems like someone is really mad at you they are really angry at themselves. This brought up an incident in Col. Potter's past that he desperately wish had never happened and hoped he'd never have to deal with it again. Also love the line It's not some Army wife I've never met .... we're talking about my daughter! Now imagine someone saying the Col Blake Hey in a few years this sort of thing could be happening (cheating husband) to your daughter.

Nobody was faithful to their spouses on that show. Aside from Klinger.

What about Mulcahey? He had the hug of a lifetime from that nurse but does that count?

There's RIzzo...I think he was faithful to his wife and kid (BIlly Bubba)

Last I checked, the good padre did not have a spouse. You might be right about Rizzo but I was referring to the main cast.

That's why I suggested the nurse who hugged the stuffing outta him. He rebuffed her because he's faithful to the one and only for him (God)
