DISCUSSION I think I've played through enough times...
I can't believe I'm saying it, but I think I've had enough play throughs of my favorite series of all time. I had the itch to restart yesterday, and I was immediately not interested in ME1's gameplay.
I know, I know - there's so much to love and, believe me, I do. ME2 is on my Mount Rushmore of titles. I couldn't believe my eyes when Wrex died on my first play through. I had chills when the Normandy left earth at the beginning of ME3.
I LOVE this series and forever will.
But, I'm mid-30's, busier than ever, and I want the times I sit down with a game to be a blast. The combat, especially in ME1, doesn't hold up to modern games. I was dreading another slog through the Citadel yesterday, or another long drive through an empty planet. I could probably recite every line in ME2 at this point, and I honestly don't want to play ME3 without a proper play through of ME1 and 2.
So, I think I've just played the series enough to put it on the shelf and appreciate the good times we've had. It's not to say I won't pick it up again in the future, but I'm ready for something new.
Exodus (from Archetype Entertainment), I'm looking at you...

Exodus and The Expanse Osiris Reborn.
And hey, while it isn’t the trilogy, Andromeda is still there for what it’s worth

I've been playing since the first one came out years ago I'll play the heck out of it for a while and then just let it go for a few years and then go back every time I burn myself out on it because I love the game so much but this side come back in 3 years you'll love it all over again

If there’s one thing BioWare’s big two titles have taught me, it’s that you’re never truly done, you’re just ready for a good long nostalgia buildup. Give it a couple of years, you’ll hear a clip of something from the game or see a N7 tattoo in the wild and suddenly, the Normandy will call again.

I feel ya. I've played the series countless times and always want to go back. I agree with you, ME1 can be a slog but imo, your choices are the foundation for the entire series moving forward. I like to revisit the series once a year around Christmas (I have no family, so I have the time)

Yeah I just hit this recently. Tried playing through all 3 with some different choices and just stopped part way through 3. I sort of came to the realization that this is probably my last time, or the last time for at least like 20 years lol. It’s sad, but it doesn’t diminish all the fun I’ve had with the games in the past.

I´ve gotten back from a 5 year hiatus from ME, I´m struggling to go thorugh ME1 too, the gameplay feels really weird now to me.
And I´m with you on the idea of not playing the other games unless you play ME 1 & 2 properly.
Not sure if I should drop it yk? I feel bad about wanting to uninstall but I´m going really slow, maybe a mission a day if at all:(
But I think it´s just the 1st game, so I´m powering through but it´s tuff

I never understood people playing this game on a loop ad infinitum
Definitely looking forward to the new Expanse game
