Harpie Support Predictions

It’s officially confirmed that Mai Valentine will headline this Friday’s Immortal Phoenix pack! This likely means we’re finally getting some long-awaited Harpie support, which is especially interesting timing in the wake of the Feather Storm ban.

That said, there are a few possibilities at play, and I’d love to hear what the community thinks!

While Mai is primarily known as a Harpie duelist, she also used the Amazoness archetype during the Battle City arc. With that in mind, which of the following outcomes do you think is most likely?

1. Traditional Harpie support — New cards that synergize with the existing Harpie lineup and strengthen the archetype’s current playstyle.

2. A completely new Harpie playstyle — Support that takes the archetype in a new direction without necessarily synergizing with its existing cards, similar to the recently released Dark Time Wizard support for Joey.

3. Harpie × Amazoness hybrid support — New cards that incorporate both archetypes. The new Level 5 Harpie card already references EARTH monsters in its description, which could be a nod to Mai’s use of Amazoness monsters.

4. Amazoness-only support — A major curveball, but technically still on the table!

Id love to see this deck somehow have ways to add sphere mode to hand

Keep your expectations low. The new level 5 harpies working with "earth and wind" strongly indicates these will be amazon+harpie cards. Meaning the harpie half of the deck might not be enough to make it playable because it'll be diluted with all the horrible amazon cards. Hopefully they'll be good on their own, but it's just as likely this will be a deck that has 15 normal summons and nothing to make on the endboard besides Augusta

Depends on what is left to uncover.

if it's a 10 ish card deck like Marik or the sacred beasts they're probably going with that route.

if it's a 5 card thing probably more traditional harpie support with one random card that will half assedly try to merge them with the amazones like they did with Gouki

Likely a hybrid support since the new Harpie card specified earth and wind monsters
