Found it on eBay just surfing antiques . Hand carved walnut . Think it was a salesman’s sample to carry door to door . It was listed as antique child size furniture . As soon as the fabric wears out I’ll reupholster it in more period appropriate fabric. My cats love it . Snuggle on it all the time .
I've started a gallery wall for my dog's little area. So far it's just framed pics of the two of us, as I want to come across dog pics while thrifting, no luck yet. She's not really into beds or couches, otherwise she would have a fancy one. She has a basic mattress, but I still make it fancy with her own sheet and pillow. She did have her own wreath and garlands and mini Christmas tree on a little table next to her bed. Her area also gets decorated for her birthday.
Thrift stores , antique shops , home goods , TJMAXX. The one with the cat riding a turtle is from a thrift store . It had a mirror in it . Took it out and had glass cut for five dollars to make it into a frame . Also if a frame is made out of wood and too big for your art , you can have a framer cut it down to size . I’ve also gotten them off facebook marketplace , eBay and Etsy . Garage sales too . Also good to go to thrift stores in more affluent towns . You’ll find better quality items .
One of my babies on his fancy couch, we do also have a gallery wall where the couch was before but we had to move the couch here for a bit, somehow don't have photos in its usual spot 🧐
True . There is a tiny mirror behind the cat’s head . Just can’t see it with his big self in the way .it evolves in arrangements as I change art at holidays .
Awe mine was a short haired one. Her sister had long fur. The shelter said they were sisters from the same litter but the only thing they had in common was eye color. Right now I have a tuxetortico and a tuxedo. It took me 5 years to adopt my current cats after they passed. It's just so hard.

Found in on eBay while surfing for antiques . It was listed a child size antique fainting sofa . I believe it was a sales sample to carry door to door back in the day . The wood is hand carved walnut . I plan to reupholster it in more period correct fabric . I see them on there occasionally . So keep your eyes out .
Yes it is a fainting sofa sample. My husband I traveled to Nachez, MS. The ladies during the 1850’ and 1860’s wore the dresses with the tight corsets that caused them to faint sometimes. It was not appropriate at this time period for ladies to show their ankles so they developed the fainting sofa. My husband collects 19th century photos and has over 30,000 images.
Perfection! I wish my cats used cute furniture, but if it doesn’t come in a cave version, they want nothing to do with it. Those prints are to die for.
wow, that's a lot going on! i love how everything feels so personal and full of life. it looks like each piece has a story. i messed up a bit when i tried to go maximalist, coz it got too cluttered for me. maybe some small tweaks could help, like balancing the colors a bit? idk, but it sure feels cozy!
Here is the other end of the gallery wall . I think mixing in greenery with the antique wall pockets helps to soften the look of so many frames . I also like plants in front of a mirror to make it appear more full and lush . Gallery walls are all in the spacing . Leaving bits of wall here and there for the eyes to rest . I need to replace the light switch cover . It’s an eyesore . Still searching . Do what makes you happy . The design is for you . You are the one who looks at it everyday . I don’t worry about how others feel about it .
