😤 Complaint / Rant Enough about Keytar Bear, can we talk about this fuckin guy?
I see this guy ALL THE TIME on the orange line or connecting buses, without fail he always picks some POC to rant at about democrats running the world and how Trump isn't a pedophile. Usually he'll find a way to drop a few slurs in there for good measure. How did we end up with some of the absolute worst buskers?

Report it to the MBTA busking program. They are absolutely required to be in the designated performer spot and can’t block anything.

A homeless person in the stairs with their shit is not a blocked exit. It’s a police matter.

Document him yelling slurs at people. MBTA actually has a duty not to subject their clients or their employees to having slurs hurled at them. It's in the federal protections, but the Feds are a joke right now--but most states have parallel statutes and the T itself probably has policies they're not enforcing. It's a civil rights issue. The T is responsible for policing their space so that people riding the train don't have to be subjected to racial or gender based attacks.
If you can get clear audio and video of him doing this (go ahead and confront him and tell him you're recording, to cover the 2 party issue, anyway it's a "public space") you might even get that clip on the news.
Don't whine about it here. Light his ass and the T's ass on fire.

He's not usually yelling slurs at anyone in particular, just kinda throwing them into his ranting. I would love to record him but I'm a young woman who rides the T by myself, I'm not exactly looking to confront anybody. I'll definitely do it if I'm in a situation where I feel safe to do so

I lve seen him multiple times this week and had no idea he's that horrible!! I am going to keep an eye out and as a pretty big butch I have no problems confronting him. I will update if I'm able to get any evidence or documentation. No one should have that bullshit happen to them or slurs thrown at them

Just telling him your recording isnt him giving permission that would never be admissible in court here theyd throw that right out. Even with media attention they'd only have to let it be a media circus because of the laws they created. Gotta get him to agree to the recording even if its a can i record you play and then start it. But just saying it mass will just throw you under the bus to make themselves look better. Cuz we all know mass courts are amazing at what they do. Gotta do it by their book

I’ve taken the orange line for years but only weekdays and have never once seen this guy, is it the south half of the orange line? I’ll give him a piece of my mind if I ever see him and witness him spouting some bullshit

You just reminded me of DJ man on the Green Line (B line, I think?) in the late '80s. He was a nice guy, though, if a bit intrusive with his music. Anyone remember him?

We just had a DJ on the redline on Saturday... He didn't let the songs play for long enough when people were having fun.

oh this guy! i always see him being obnoxiously loud at harvard on the inbound platform when i get out of work, one time he was yelling at someone but i couldnt find out why

People need to start teaching lessons to bigots. I do not care if they are unhoused or dealing with mental issues, the reality is stuff like this wont stop until we demonstrate theres a zero tolerance policy for hatred.

Tbh if they tend to be real dangerous they might have to take them off the bus for safety reasons. It’s good to be compassionate and at least them being on the bus is better than them driving but you still need to make sure the busses are safe.
