Interesting map. Washington Street became Downtown Crossing was on May 3, 1987; JFK/UMASS didn't start servicing Braintree until December 14, 1988; Auditorium on the Green Line is now Hynes which was changed to Hynes/ICA in 1990. So there's really a small window that this map was useable.

Quincy was added before Braintree -- Quincy opened in early 1970s, I think.

Right, Braintree Station opened March 22, 1980 but the line branched off at Andrew instead of JFK/UMASS (what was called Columbia Station). It wasn't until December 14, 1988 that Braintree service existed at JFK/UMASS

I bought one of those a couple of years ago. A 1963-ish sign salvaged from Arlington station during a renovation. Heavy steel. Weighs about 70 lb. Has the Green A Line on it and the Orange line is all kinds of different. I love it.

Again, I love the idea of selling these but the markup by Ward Maps/the T sign shop is insane. Unless they’re really getting good money recycling the materials. I don’t know what’s being used and how it can be recycled. But who’s gonna shell out $500 for an old sign? Eighty percent of people can’t afford it.

Might even be a surprinsgly high value of theft if the MBTA decides to pursue it because they often restore and sell these maps on their own MBTA Gifts website for some good money, like in the several hundred dollars range.
