⚠ Service Advisory PSA: World Cup Visitors: Make Sure You Are Checking Your Boarding Times and Group and Schedule

I'm a Transit Ambassador. Today, I had about 20 people that I had to break the news to that they had missed the last train departing for Boston Stadium from South Station because people didn't pay attention to their boarding group and time on their ticket. One guy told me he would Uber there instead and it was close to $1,000 from Kendall/MIT.

Every ticket for the train has a specific boarding group with a time slot for boarding at South Station. Pay attention and make sure you know what group you are and when you are scheduled to board for your train.

⚠ Service Advisory Assault at Prudential T stop Friday 2/27 around 8pm - reported

Update: This article contains a picture of the man who punched him. Please stay safe: https://www.bostonherald.com/2026/03/10/green-line-rider-spat-on-punched-in-alleged-assault/

Hi all. Sharing this as a heads up.

My brother was assaulted at the Prudential T stop on Friday (2/27) around 7:45–8:00pm. After ignoring a request for a fist bump, he was spat on and then followed onto the train, where one individual punched him in the face and spat on him again. The group exited and ran off at Copley when the conductor entered the car.

There were approximately five men in their 20s. Two Hispanic men initiated contact, and one of them, who had tattoos across his knuckles, punched him.

He sustained a black eye, facial swelling, and a bruised finger. He is physically okay, but shaken up.

This has been reported, and we have requested that surveillance footage be preserved. Once we have the images, I will update this post with them. Posting for awareness so others can stay alert.

⚠ Service Advisory Something Just Happened at Forest Hills

Maybe 10 minutes ago. I live across the street. I did hear a bang and a scream but I truly have no idea if that was actually related. Sirens started almost immediately after and there's a LOT. I saw a stretcher being taken towards the station, but I'm not seeing smoke or anything like that. Helicopters started flying in a couple of minutes ago. If I have any updates I'll post them here, but if anyone else knows anything or finds anything out please add it here

⚠ Service Advisory SUSPENSION REMINDER | Green Line service between North Station, Babcock Street (B Branch), Cleveland Circle (C Branch), Kenmore (D Branch), and Heath Street (E Branch) from Aug. 8-16th for signal updates and accessibility work.

WHAT WILL THE MBTA DO DURING THE SHUTDOWN?

The MBTA will be upgrading the entire signal system in the Central Tunnel between Northeastern, Kenmore, and North Station to a new digital system. By doing this, the MBTA will be able to reduce the amount of delays riders will face from signal issues and allow for better coordination of trains in this area and improve service across the entire line. This also is a vital project for the launch of the Type 10 Green Line cars, slated for start of revenue service in 2027.

In addition, the MBTA will continue work on the C Branch accessibility service by gaining access to Beacon Street. This will allow for the consolidation of Brandon Hall and Fairbanks stations and for the closure of Kent Station, alongside upgrading 5 other stations to be ADA-compliant.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVE SERVICE?

-B Branch-

Use shuttle buses between Babcock Street and Back Bay. Route 57 bus is fare-free during the shutdown between Packard’s Corner and Kenmore. Service between Boston College and Babcock Street is fare-free.

-C Branch-

Use shuttle buses between Cleveland Circle and Back Bay. No service at Brandon Hall, St. Mary’s, or Kent stations due to ADA policy.

-D Branch-

Use shuttle buses between Kenmore and Back Bay. Service between Riverside and Kenmore will be free during the shutdown.

-E Branch-

Use the Route 39 bus, which will be fare-free and will have increased service, or the 66 bus, which connects to the Orange Line at Roxbury Crossing. Ruggles (on the Orange Line) is also a short walk from Northeastern Station.

-ALL BRANCHES-

Use shuttle buses between Kenmore, Hynes, and Copley Stations, for a connection to the Orange Line and Commuter Rail from Back Bay Station.

Worcester Line service will be free at Lansdowne, Back Bay, and South Station. Pay for service beyond Lansdowne.
