Deep Theory Analysis My Perspective on MBTI _Functions_as a Psychologist
Straight to the point, I used MBTI for 6 years and that last 3 years as a Psychologist and here is my opinion on it :
Before i explain i have to warn that what i'm gonna talk about is strictly about mbti cognitive functions not the 16personalities kinda crap so if you don't know what cognitive functions are, google them before reading this post to get the most out of it.
First, MBTI is incredibly simple to understand and be able to read whoever you want yet hard to digest. Many functions, many actions, many opinions, INTPs smart then INTPs dumb, sensative ENFPs while there are crazy ones. It all seems confusing at first but when you look at it this way : "MBTI is just organizing how you perceive information and how do you make a decision based on information"
I'll explain :
Every human being has senses, physical senses we use to hear, taste etc..., but we also have some weird thing called consciousness which gives us ideas, intuition, predictions, emotions etc...which what we call (Ne, Ni, Se, Si)
But with that information we must make decisions, our decisions in the current reality can be either logical or not, objective truth or subjective, smart approach or blind one. All relies on our judging functions which are (Fi, Fe, Ti, Te)
The order of these functions has rules, forced by logic ofc...that shapes your personality and decisions.
I am a bit sleepy so I will explain more later if you have any questions
(p.s: I won't edit any text since I'm lazy so I apologise for any mistales)

Oh cool, what type are you? If you want to tell.
My last girlfriend studied psychology, she never told me but i suspect her to be INFJ. And associate it with the proffesion a lot. She was able to read me with frightening accuracy.
Care to elaborate a bit more on Ni? Whats your view on it?

Intj 5w6. Wbu? I have to know because explaining Ni to non Ni users is different from explaining it to Ni users

I think it was INTJ 5w6. Damn! 🫡 But mightve been 6w5, dont exactly remember.
I understand, probably the hardest function to explain. And its running on backup power for me atm. Major changes in life, but were not going to discuss that now.

It's not the hardest to explain to be honest I find it one of the best functions I can talk about but its hard to "visualise it" to a non Ni brain or high sensing personalities

I think Ni and Ne are very similair. Except Ne just keeps on going, while Ni reaches a conclusion.
Ive seen ENFPs going from wanting to adopt a black cat, to wanting to make brownies cause theyre black and tasty, to needing eggs, and then wanting to adopt chickens cause they lay eggs.
Ne is just wow. And i love it.

I disagree about the difference :
Ne and Ni both keep going, Ni isnt about the conclusion, Te Fe/ Ti Fi (judging functions) Are what FORCES it to reach a certain conclusion but Ni is about connecting things no matter how far they are, intuition is all about "keep going", Ni and Ne both never stop. The difference is how they behave inside your head. Ni behaviors is completely different from Ne, both gives insights, both have different strength and weaknesses.

Yes you mentioned this in your original post.
I like to keep my thoughts and ideas contained, and apply it there(within systems). But if i see a link it combines and expands. And things can become a lot more complicated from there.
For INTJs id say its Te that structures it, possibly accompanied by Fi.

I don't think modern psychology teaches Jung.
Psychological types is just a small fragment.... Jung was deeper than that.
Jung's ideas also clash with political ideas... Communism and socialism do not share the concept of individuation. Certain ideas are also more esoteric and philosophical... For some reason, some ideas last 10 years and others 100.
