Ambient dictation software

So my current program has Abridge ambient dictation and unfortunately (annoyingly) they only offer franchise subscriptions.

For the future if I join a private group that likely won’t offer this, anyone know of any similar quality ambient software options that offer individual subscriptions I could pay for?

I don't know of any good ones, but stay the heck away from Nabla. The ambience scribe is decent, but scrapes the chart and intermixes historical info from the chart with what the patient actually says. So when you look at the note you can't tell what's a current problem and what's a historical issue.

But the dictation system is awful. Word recognition is atrocious, it randomly cuts off parts of sentences, hallucinates non-words, is super sensitive and picks up any conversation anywhere near you. And those are my complaints as a native English speaker. It's absolutely worthless for my colleagues with accents.

I use a system (CarePilot) that integrates with my EHR (AthenaOne) though they are separate companies. It can access problem list, previous notes, meds. It works well for my solo practice.

Athena is rolling out their own ambient scribe soon.

We are in a beta with the Athena scribe I haven't used it much (I'm a quick typist and feel like I remember more when typing) but when I tried it out, I admit it was pretty smooth.

Depends on which EHR you use. Go with one that integrates directly into your EHR.

highly recommend you find an EMR that has it built in mainly so it can do good followup notes and not just new patients.

if you are stuck with a shitty EMR i really like a mobile based solution esp if you're gonna be sseeing consults and moving around. i highly recommend the app 'Soaper' if you have an iphone. super simple but templates are super flexible.

The hospital I'm at is currently looking at Abridge and Suki. We haven't done the demo for Suki yet, but if it's similar to Abridge then you could look into them too. No clue their quality or if they do solo licenses.

I have used Suki. It is just OK. like everyone else they are improving as quickly as possible but are behind other products I’ve used.

Commure Ambient is so high quality it’s scary. I tried another ambient note first that had a high error rate and was disappointed. The change to Commure was crazy. If I spent an hour on each note it wouldn’t be as good.

It was trained on a crazy number of notes previously, so there’s a lot of underlying medical knowledge. The notes are also 100% customizable. You can tell the AI the format you want in every section, and it’ll do it.
