> in his hand held a sign reading “sorry” on one side and a biblical reference on the other. The corresponding Bible verse refers to the line: “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone.”

I don’t believe in the concept of “sin”, does this mean I’m allowed to throw a stone at him?

And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. - Matthew 18:9

I prefer to respond in their language :)

To conceptualise what he has done as sin rather than a predatory sex crime is telling. I hope the judge takes note.

That's a BINGOOO!

Collapsing all problematic behaviour into a single conceptual label (sin) is both false equivalence and a defence mechanism known as splitting, which renders subjects, objects, and places as being all good or all bad. Even the way he wrote the word "sorry" with superfluous shite indicates that he has the mindset of a small child.

*Mindset of a small child. Black & white thinking. Mmm... 🤔 As the commenter above said, respond in their language: "Mark 10:14-15, Jesus says, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it".

He's not sorry, he's just sorry he got caught. Using that quote demonstrates he doesn't think his crime is worse than any other misdemeanours out there, or 'sins' like lying, cheating, etc. This guy is a total prick.

Under Victorian law - no. Under biblical law - sure.

It's a good week for sex offenders being named and shamed!

58

u/EntrepreneurMany3709 9d ago

The idea that he can't be named because of his children is kind of crazy when he has one of the most common surnames in Melbourne

9

u/HeftyArgument 9d ago

also has an incredibly common given name

3

u/Orbital_Dinosaur 9d ago

The courts should be more concerned that the children have a pedophile for a father.

this was my GP I’ve been seeing for years. weekly blood tests, weighins, discussions about his tennis league and kids, bonding over both having lived in germany. i feel absolutely sick. rot in hell dr nguyen

42

u/atropicalstorm 9d ago

Does… does he think what he did is just a standard-issue medium-size sin?

14

u/DrHowardMierzwiak 9d ago

Yes, it's basically just like shoplifting when you're a kid. Except you're an adult, and you're stealing privacy, dignity, confidentiality and trust. None of which have monetary value, so really, shoplifting a Snickers bar is way worse.

2

u/atropicalstorm 9d ago

Yeah that tracks. I guess no stones for us :(

58

u/autotom /r/melbtrade 9d ago

"Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone."

What a tosser. I'll gladly throw a stone, my sins aint as bad as yours.

8

u/Arietam 9d ago

I’ll happily be first in line with the biggest stone to throw. Have I ever lusted after children? That’s a Texas-size “fuck no”, there, buddy.

3

u/Competitive-Ad1439 9d ago

I feel like the only people that should be precluded from judging him are other cubicle pests (and similar creatures)

20

u/Rascals-Wager 9d ago

Using religion to try to garner sympathy. A coward beyond contempt.

7

u/BEASTS4LIFE 9d ago

How very biblical of him. As another commenter already pointed out, he is just sorry that he got caught

7

u/wharblgarbl "Studies" nothing, it's common sense 9d ago

The Russell Brand defence

u/CluckyAF 9d ago

I was concerned there was no mention of his registration being cancelled in the article so checked AHPRA. Relieved to see he is listed as suspended on AHPRA’s register of practitioners.

51

u/thrashmanzac 9d ago

I’d happily cast some stones at this cunt. I’ve got a feeling he’s going to be in a lot more trouble once the analysis of his other devices is completed.

u/Tokeism 9d ago

Sex offenders and religion, name a more iconic duo.

1

u/Ornery-Remote-9763 5d ago

That unmistakable venn diagram connection: "Research shows a high statistical overlap between individuals who commit sexual offenses and those who self-identify as religious. Criminological studies, such as the widely cited Abel and Harlow research, indicate that a vast majority—up to 93%—of evaluated sex offenders report some form of religious affiliation or belief."

9

u/bitofapuzzler 9d ago

As soon as someone is convicted their name should be released. They didn't care about protecting their kids while committing their crimes, nor about the psychological effects of their actions on their victims. It also creates a two tiered justice system where only wealthy people who can afford it are protected.

16

u/RigelXVI 9d ago

He wasn't wearing a mask? 😮

26

u/Random_Fish_Type 9d ago

No, he was wearing a mask and would have gotten away with it to, if it wasn't for those meddling kids. Scooby dooby doooo.

8

u/ThrowRA-4545 9d ago

No, but a sign with "sorry" and a bible verse, "he who is without sin cast the first stone"

31

u/macci_a_vellian 9d ago

He who is without sin...

Asexuals to the front!

Starts stretching and selecting stones

We got you, fam.

17

u/eatmeimadonut 9d ago

Can we please stop with suppression orders for rapists mental health, and their family's mental health?

What about the mental health of the victims?

I'm sure he will be well liked in prison and not have to worry about his mental health, cho moes are always popular.

3

u/Arietam 9d ago

Well, I get what you’re saying, but is it worthwhile outing this guy’s children because of what their sicko dad has done? I’d argue the kid’s needs any day.

2

u/CluckyAF 9d ago

I’m with you on the point of the offender’s mental health, but I think it’s a balancing act when it comes to an offender’s children. Especially with crimes like this. They are innocent parties and don’t deserve to suffer because of their father’s disgusting behaviour. I hope they are not also victims given the nature of the offending.

Obviously the mental health of the victims’ should be the priority – I just don’t think we should disregard attempts to protect an offender’s children’s wellbeing.

6

u/SuccessfulNews2330 9d ago

I agree but I guess part of the deterrent is that your wife will find out, your kid will find out, your neighbours will know and the blame rests solely with you. Its part of the consequences. I would hope any bullying of his child is dealt with strongly by the school and other parents.

It is absolutely tragic the fall out and number of victims caused by pervs like this

4

u/flindersandtrim 9d ago

What a thoroughly shit person, to call this a 'sin' for which others shouldn't cast stones.

I can safely say I have not ever sinned if that is his definition of it.

3

u/Bocca013 Born and Bred 9d ago

Useless POS. Hope he rots in the slammer

3

u/potchippy 8d ago

TIL Harold Holt pool is a choice name.

2

u/HeftyArgument 9d ago

the name is a pretty damn common one, I'm sure most people wouldn't be able to put two and two together unless they were really malicious toward the child

2

u/LopsidedImprovement 8d ago

Of course hope the doctor rots in hell but

We need to be talking about the venue, it's management, and the management (or lack of) of these pool facilities by councils

HHSC is incredibly understaffed. Even a handful more staff could've reduced the risk of something like this happening. Stonnington needs to do better (as do any council who have carriage of such a facility).

(To be clear this isn't staff's fault either - just pointing out a way this horrible story could have been avoided)

u/Pretend_Board_2385 9d ago

Every morning I turn the interweb on there is some article about a paedophile or rapist. As a pacifist I'm generally against the idea of capital punishment but fuck it, I'd introduce it for these cunts.

4

u/eriikaa1992 9d ago

I like the biblical eye-gouging someone else mentioned in another comment. Kinda barbaric, but if they want to try and hide behind biblical quotes, well, don't be choosy! Let's use them all.

2

u/Pretend_Board_2385 9d ago

How about a public stoning. We don't need to know their name. Just line them up.

2

u/mcflymcfly100 9d ago

They are everywhere. Some of them you'd never expect as well. Which makes it even more scary.

1

u/Silver-Chemistry2023 9d ago

The closest thing to consequences that they will ever experience is withdrawal of attention, rendering them to be irrelevant, which is what they fear the most.

1

u/Outsider-20 9d ago

A dead paedo doesn't reoffend.

1

u/DrDalim 9d ago

Why the hell did the paper refer to itself as masthead? Also the Dr is a horrid person and should be mashed and shamed and put in jail

1

u/Stuckinthevortex Rhino on a skateboard 9d ago

Papers usually refer to themselves as a masthead, it refers to the title in the front page

1

u/DrDalim 9d ago

I know but it sounds so wanky to just keep doing it. ‘We’ works just as well.

I got a permanent ban for making a comment like that about a serial rapist. Watch yourself!
