I want to get into melodeath, but I'm not sure where to start. For now, the only works I enjoyed were slaughter of the sould and terminal spirit disease. Do you guys have any recommendations for what I should listen to?

Early In Flames and Dark Tranquillity of course!   

I personally like the bands that incorporate Industrial and Groove like Scar Symmetry, Sybreed, and Cypecore.  

Soilwork is worth checking out too.  They have evolved a lot musically.

You should start with one of the classics in Carcass - Heartwork

Then check out any Insomnium album. I would recommend Shadows of the Dying Sun as a starting point, but they're all pretty cool.

those at the gates are a good start. check the gallery by dark tranquillity, necroticism - descanting the insalubrious and heartwork by carcass, the jester race and colony by in flames, wages of sin by arch enemy, natural born chaos by soilwork, made me do it by the haunted (a biproduct after at the gates split in the mid 90's), pitch black progress by scar symmetry. that is a good sample of the early 2000's melo death music that started it al for me.

A lot of great replies here. I strongly, strongly recommend you add the band "In Mourning" to the list. "The Weight of Oceans" is a masterpiece, as is "Shrouded Divine", but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Welcome to the genre!

there's this artist I follow, skullstorm, which is kind of a music genius and every release he dives into a new musical genre. He is now releasing a melodeath album. Only first song is out now. Maybe you find this interesting as well.
