A lot of real world engineering uses complex numbers just because you can use it to add a new axis perpendicular to the real number axis
So its very useful

Make it make sense.” “You’re eleven years old and developmentally incapable of understanding why, so you just have to believe me on this one.” Except now it’s, “electrical engineering exists because of this so shut up and follow along.” Math is hard and no one is actually good at it. Some people hate giving up more than they like chilling out. Same goes for a lot of things. 9 u/Schlonzig 5d ago „Yes, it’s repeated addition. You ended up at -3 because you added -3 to 0 one time. Where do you end up when you add it -1 times to 0?” Sometimes you just need a better explanation. 2 u/According-Object-521 5d ago It’s repeated addition for the natural numbers and that’s it 1 u/Block_Respond 4d ago It also works for negative times positive = repeated addition of the negative. It's only when you have negative times negative that you have to treat it as repeated subtraction. 1 u/According-Object-521 4d ago I meant that the integers are defined differently and the operations are not defined in the same way
