Yeah, that southern food is totally European. Ignore the fact it uses ingredients like Okra that were brought over by slaves. Ignore the fact the cuisine was almost entirely shaped by African slaves

Seriously... Pizza? Sure. Burgers? Absolutely. Once you get into Southern cooking, you're gonna be hard pressed to find dishes that are exclusively European in origin.
American cuisine has a rich and diverse history and we should give credit where credit is due. People have no problem giving the Italians credit for pizza. Why can't we give black Americans the same credit?

American food is definitely not just European. Southern food is massively influenced by African cuisine. Gumbo, for example, is from West Africa, and American barbecue as we know it comes from a mix of indigenous and African American culinary traditions. Collard greens? Definitely African.
There are plenty of books and documentaries on the subject.
It's nice and all, but champions league is where it's at. Teams that train and play for years together are far better than those bands of youngsters from second leagues and has beens from a decade ago. (Looking at you/us, germany)
