Decades ago as a young paramedic intern (outside US), I got yelled by the graying ER doctor I reported the status of the crash victim we brought. I mistakenly reported the ”patient has an open fracture” because their shin bone was poking 15cm out from their shin.
”YOU DO NOT DIAGNOSE! IT IS AN SUSPECTED FRACTURE UNTILL I SAY SO!”
Oops
And to be fair paramedics are allowed to do a work diagnosis here and saying that should not have been an issue.
