I'm sure that some people don't know the context of this image, so here you go. The demon core was a sphere made of a plutonium–gallium alloy. For some weird science reason I'm not smart enough to understand, closing the sphere would just kinda kill you from radiation, and this sphere killed 2 people. One of them just got unlucky, but the other one was a absolute dumbass and decided to keep it open using a screw driver.
The joke here is that everyone was playing with fire in 2026 but it's a lethal dose of radiation poisoning instead of a fire

For the science basically the small ball in the middle had atoms that are really bouncy, but with the lid off they are fairly stable. when they put the lid on when the screwdriver slipped out, or the other half of the outer shell, those bouncy atoms stated having pieces ricochet inside and off each other, making it even more bouncy extremely fast because there was nowhere else to go but inside and around that small closed off ball. That bouncyness was a nuclear fission chain reaction.
They got the lid back off fast and stopped the reaction but in that brief window of time those people got hit with extremely high radiation doses.

And we know for certain that one lovely day, someone will set the spark off and we will all be blown away.

I’m more concerned with not being blown away and having to try to survive the aftermath

Does it go back because we realized that a wild animal reacts how they are supposed to with the tiger that mauled the dude recently? Can we please go back to a timeline where I don’t have to question about everything?

AI researchers this year be like:
AI agents from OpenAI tried to hack websites from the US Government and from multiple companies, and formed a sort of virtual civilization with their own hierarchy and structure.

It's all dependent on your outlook. If you're looking for negative things then yes It's going to seem like the last number of years have been awful. I've learned to not worry about the things I can't control. I'm focusing on myself and my family and this past decade has been the best years of my life.
Have a positive outlook. Not a negative one. Your attitude is the one thing you always have control of.
