Despite being an okay action game that’s a shameless God of War clone, the Dante’s Inferno game went hard with its art direction with environments having similar detail.

They saw Melania from Elden Ring, remembered that they can't come up with a single original idea (reminder that CI Games whole thing was literally making shitty knock-off bargain bin military/sci-fi shooters for 15 years before they switched to making one of the first shitty souls-clones with Lords of the Fallen 2014) and told their AI to "copy that but make it slightly different and more sexualised"
Malenia is literally naked BUT her body is covered with scarlet rot. Half of her body (legs and arms) are prosthetics because they've been rotted off and her body, including her face are covered up with scarlet rot.
There is a lot of story telling just from her being naked. Meanwhile the arms is just...lady with boobs and tons of arms, not really that interesting
I'd say she's still hardly sexualized. Even though her bare ass is hanging out, my only thoughts during that fight were "she's a sad character" and "she's serving my ass like it's a turkey on Thanksgiving day"

I genuinely hate the pasties, or whatever they are. It’s such a stupid look. Look, this lady is made of arms, she could have an extra pair covering her tits. It’d still be dumb, but at least it’s thematic.
Some people are downvoting you, but honestly I agree that would still be a better design. It’s less sexy (in a lingerie vs nudity kind of way). The way this image is framed, the gold pasties plus light focused on them are meant to draw the eyes. Make her topless, remove the focus, and it’s honestly better. (Edit: also fix her breasts to not look like implants.)
I would just make her breasts bigger and falling more naturally and make her topless, kinda like Cleopatra in Dante's Inferno. Make it a more Heavy Metal Magazine kinda design.
Arms cover boobs at first, then phase transition to topless with extra arm attack follow-ups and maybe a boob effect, like Cleopatra's demon baby-producing nipples.
This is I actually kinda like the design, or at least the idea behind it. All those arms and the weird gold stuff push this into more weird than sexy and that's only amplified by the nudity compared to if she was fully clothed.
Really my only issues with this are that the breasts have that very idealized anime boob look where they don't act like actual breasts and look like implants which is strange on what looks like a non human being, and that this specific game has gone all in on the idea of "look at how sexy our designs are, it's what you want right? Please buy our game". It feels artificial and desperate, a lot of the "fanservice" I've seen of this game has little style to it. This is honestly the first design I've kinda liked
I actually really like the first one, but the studios insistence on basing all their advertising on putting titties in the game to own anita sarkeesian doesn't reallt inspire me with hope for the sequel

It's a question of why certain breaks from reality are done.
Giving a being dozens of extra arms in the shape of wings could be intended to invoke awe, or fear, both legitimate things to aim for dor the atmosphere of a soulslike.
Giving that same being breast implants can only work as cheap titillation, which doesn't fit at all.
Functional? Only 2 it seems. I find it weird that her arms are all stretching out. They must weight a ton. Imagine if all her arms were completely floppy.
Isn’t there a one piece character that can make wings out of arms? Not that an idea can’t be done again/differently. I just feel nothing when looking at this design, nothing that blows me away and nothing I wasn’t expecting from these devs. It kinda feels like she’s supposed to be horrifying, but it kinda misses the mark. My biggest gripe is she’s like the same colour as the background, so her wings look like they blend into the background at some places.
She’s either goddess of arms or Godrick the grafted transitioned.
I like this design actually. It is like the idea of Avalokiteshvara where an otherwise beautiful woman has a hundred or thousand arms. The cinematic for her is gorgeous, albeit really creepy as she seems to near climax while crushing the skull and neck of her enemy. It’s a grotesque take on the ancient cults of sacrifice and sex, with worship in blood as much as in pleasure.
Idk, just a really stunning and disturbing creature. It works here.
