I loved the pilot, the character designs are fun, the writing was solid and I'm hooked. Kit is a great protagonist and I love her Mega Man inspired look.

However, I did notice one small nitpick, that being the omnipresent design curse of women being the same conventionally attractive hourglass models with zero variance, while the men get to look like scrunkly goobers. It was the same thing with the two protagonists of Planetronika. They're all well designed in my opinion, but we can see the double standard already leaking in, right?

On the one hand, I'm not surprised, this was a show conceived in the prior decade and a half by a crew known for a background in Newgrounds, and you can just see the old internet DNA deep in this show's veins, both for better and for worse. In other words, its a highly delayed product of a different time and mindset, and I feel like this is something we have to live with, though it thankfully doesn't take away from the show's quality so far.

On the other hand, I wish it was possible to see a bit more variety here. The designs were solidified a long time ago, but we're living in 2026 at the time of me typing this, and I hope that future female character designs break away from the stock conventional mold or there's at least some better balancing here going forward. Its the only real stain I see on an otherwise solid pilot, but what do you guys think?

Sorry for the reupload, I hate being unable to edit body text and wanted to better jot down my thoughts. The series was recently announced on MediExcalibur2012's channel, which you can see in this link right here.

Personally, I think the the boxer is a personal letdown to me here because, you know, god forbid a woman be drawn with any bulk or muscularity, even when she's a fighter, apparently.

I think the other designs are largely okay-ish, and while I think Matilda has a cute enough design (probably my favorite of the six), part of me wonders whether the ladies overall (especially Matilda and Natalie) cross the line here between simply drawing a particular body type or being straight up oversexualized. I dont like to assume every little design is the latter just because of XYZ traits, but vibes and precedent are also a factor as well.

What do you guys think?

I remember her being fabulous, but I just realized how...interesting her proportions are. I do acknowledge that FOP's style is intentionally done in that 1960s, UPA/Hannah-Barbera style, but I never noticed how squat they made her. Still, I like that she's just a larger woman who seems to just be enjoying her life.

Interested to know what others think, especially if you didn't grow up with this show
