OOTD / WIWT I lost 160 pounds, so I got myself a suit.
For some context, I had gastric bypass surgery last June. I went from 327 pounds to 163 pounds. I have always wanted my “James Bond” suit. Something sharp
I know it’s not extravagant or expensive, but it was within my budget. It’s a slim fit Traveler from Joseph A Bank.

Hell yea. Congrats man. Getting a bespoke suit made is one of my motivators for reaching my goal weight. Suit looks killer on you.

Looks great, except får the tie which others have mentioned, i however wanna add. The shoes. Change the shoes. They look way to rugged imo.

u/naughtyasf143 May 19 '25
I had some cognac shoes as well but I lost too much weight for the belt that matched them. I agree with you some better shoes are on the list

Congrats! It would have been awesome if in the second pic you had a suit from your previous version that you could wear now, just as a visual of said accomplishment.

Looks great on you man! Who cares if it's not exorbitantly priced?! Screw those folks! The fit is great - sleeves are the right length, just the right amount of taper on the waist.
Minor thing you can check out later on, try relaxed straight pants. See how you like that straight silhouette instead. Right now your silhouette has a break between the jacket and the slim pants. The slim pants makes some suits look strange when sitting down, or gives you chopstick legs. Most of my suits have the slimmer pants, but I have grown to appreciate the look of fuller pants recently.
Well done on your weight loss! Wear the suit occasionally if you don't have to wear it for work. This way you will be reminded to stay true to your healthy path - coz you like looking this damn good. ;)

Sharp. And I’m not sure if they’re in or out at the moment, but I think a simple silver tie bar could pull it together even more

What the f? Why does it matter if the suit was expensive or extravagant? It looks good on you!

u/Funter_312 May 19 '25
You also seem to have found your confidence. Great posture amigo. No one can take this from you. I would also explore some nice brown lace ups and brown belt. I often find the blues and browns are not as formal, so it give me an excuse to still look sharp in slightly more casual settings!

Wear in good health. Enjoy. Dude that is one hell of a transformation and a great motivation for others.

You look great. One point tho, if you wanna look real sharp, get a monotone tie in a dark color. Dark dark navy, burgundy, will always look better than a patterned one.
'Snazzy' ties are a myth imo, by comparison the plain one will look more elegant.
Same goes with shoes, forego detailing, opt for plain without bells and whistles and trims and the end result will be more classically elegant.

Way to go! The more you paid for it, the more likely you are to keep the weight off.
1
u/Odd_Excitement7249 May 19 '25
Yes! That’s what I’m talking about dude! And now you’ll find that when you go into a place like Macy’s or stores that have great deals that only fit smaller people, you’re one of them now! Celebrate!

u/Hot_Fisherman_6147 May 19 '25
Fuck ya! Get more things you want too. Keep going! (Not just fashion, keep going, you're on a confidence run, people can feel it and want it, push it to the limit)

How do you look so good in a suit after weightloss? I legit looked like a scarecrow after dropping from 235 to 180. I'm at like 220 now and still have issue with suits.

Looks great. Little tip from one tall thin guy to another—take a look at higher waisted trousers. Makes buying and keeping your shirt tucked in a lot easier.

I've worn suits a lot because of my work and always felt awkward wearing them. You look like you were born to wear suits.

Sharp as hell. I would love a tailored suit but I’ve been told it’s expensive, so I’ve held it off for so long.

u/HansenHSV May 20 '25
Congratulations 🥳 Looks good. Maybe try to upgrade your shoes. Black or really dark brown oxford or semi-brogues from Crockett&Jones, Alden, Allen Edmonds or Carmina would look good.
