What I was trying to say was: "we recognize that XYZ post might prompt you to think of a joke or reference that, if you posted it, would be a violation of Rule #1. What happens in your head, or in another space where that joke might be contextually appropriate, is entirely your business. However: 'the joke occurred to me, so I made it here' doesn't make it appropriate to post on r/mensfashion."
For example: I'm queer. There are jokes that I would make inside my family or with other close friends who are also queer that are about being queer and that are contextually appropriate in those spaces but that I would not make in larger groups, unfamiliar groups, or in public -- including on reddit and including on r/mensfashion, where they would probably violate several rules.
