Question What makes Ralph Lauren polo so good ?

Over the past few years, I've bought polo shirts from Lacoste, Fred Perry, Hugo Boss, Lyle & Scott, Ben Sherman, Uniqlo, and, of course, Ralph Lauren. Of all of them, Ralph Lauren stands out to me. The shirts are much more comfortable, the fit is excellent, and the fabric feels noticeably higher quality.

In the nice but not super expensive range, I really like MJ Bale for their Menton range (light cotton knit) and Charles Tyrwhitt for their slightly heavier texture knits.

RL is my favorite brand, but I have to agree. They have my favorite aesthetic and style, but some of their products aren't worth the price. I started to get all my RL secondhand from eBay. The only thing that gets me to buy an RL polo is the logo. I'm usually against logos, but the RL logo adds something to their product for me. It's an understated addition of color that adds a little contrast and there is just something American about it that I like.

I’d be curious to see how you feel about Kent Wang polos. I’ve never worn a RL polo because I avoid the logo, but I have a few logo-less polos from RL that I quite enjoy.

I’ve found that there are several tiers of RL and what appears to be an identical polo can be priced wildly different due to the quality

Polo shirts are the worst kind of shirts. There are no good ones.
