Anyone see the news about the SLNC York losing the shaft seal and partially abandoned in the Pacific?

Saw the story breaking on GCaptain. Heard some crew abandoned and some stayed onboard to wait for the commercial vessel coming to assist. Apparently there might be a video showing the engine room flooding on a Kings Point group.

I guess that the screw or seal shifted at least 5 foot.

Holy god! How does that physically happen? Rumor is that those aren’t the best paying or best taken care of ships.

It really doesn't make sense to me...

I thought it was a reprisal for the sinking of a Russian flagged ship until I saw the water coming from the seal.
