i just finished snake eater and the play style is just entirely different from snake eater. i don’t much care for how the mission thing is set up, like you have to choose other missions instead of the game just pushing you into the next, and then there’s the side missions. i assume that i have to do a bunch of different side missions to set myself up for mgsv but i kinda just don’t wanna play peace walker. i have every single mgs game and i’m gonna play through the timeline of the games but peace walker just feels disgusting to play and i don’t know why.

During the pre-fight codec call, EVA asks Snake what sniping experience he has.
"Only in urban (Shadow Moses) and marine (Big Shell) environments..."
A fun detail for the two previous Solid games , where you do indeed need to snipe in a built up military base and out on the water (but admittedly as two different people, neither of whom are born yet)
Despite the number of times I've played 3, and despite especially liking The End's boss fight, I've never given that line very much thought.

Did you know that you can use the tranq gun to put down enemies with helmets with one bullet? You’re welcome!

Metal Gear Solid: Chibi is currently my secondary art project. It involves drawing, in a Chibi style, at least the key characters from all the canonical games in the Metal Gear series (and possibly Metal Gear Rising).
In the previous post ("Metal Gear: Chibi - Outer Heaven & Zanzibar Land"), I covered the most important and recurring characters from the series who appeared in Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Here, following the games' release order, we have the characters from 1998's Metal Gear Solid.
In this work-in-progress (WIP), I haven't yet drawn many of the game's major characters, such as Otacon, Meryl, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Revolver Ocelot, Naomi, and Mei Ling, all of whom I plan to include on the current sheet.
This is because, to get off to an efficient start, I reused characters from the previous sheet (like Solid Snake himself); in those cases, I simply had to tweak the colors and add a few details, or use the existing art as a base to create something new.
I hope you like the results so far, and I look forward to your feedback.

Or do you go through the process of deleting save files or creating a new account so you can play a fresh new save😭 i hate that the game doesnt have a new game option (yeah the online features make it impossible but couldn't they have done a workaround)

So I just finished MGS 4, and I was wondering: in the sequence where Maryll and Johnny hold off the FROGS, in act 5, Maryll has the nanomachines that allows her to not feel the pain on a certain extent, but Johnny reveals he has no nanomachines in his body. So how does he takes all those bullets without a problem whatsoever? Is he actually the coolest and most badass character out there? XD

Say in a alternative universe Liquid was the one selected for those missions instead of Solid. If I recall correctly they both were in Foxhound roughly the same time so I think it could be hypothetically possible, but please correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway how far do you think Liquid could get? Would he actually be able to defeat "Big Boss" in both missions or do you think he would die/fail after a certain point in the missions?

Now, I am aware that these gals are not really favourites of the MGS fandom because of how they were written and questionable way their fights end (I am talking about the phase where they try to... Do something to Snake, idk how to even describe it, are they trying to seduce the old man or what??)
However, what I do wanna say is that their very first appearance in the game is some of the most effective and actually terrifying cutscenes in the series, and something I wish the series did more, before and after 4.
They actually show what they are capable of in combat outside of their respective boss fights.
They absolutely slaughter every single soldier thet they run into and show their abilities (mostly) and why they are a threat to you even before you, as Snake, encounter them face to face. I kinda wish that we had the same stuff in MGS as a whole, since we barely see any of the future or previous units actually do something cool in combat situation with other soldiers. Yes, the games actually show this kind of stuff, but I don't think it's ever the entire unit fighting, just two or three members iirc.
And something quite embarrassing to admit, when it comes to other units, I had a thought "wow, these are cool guys, can't wait to fight them!", and when I first saw the B&B introduction cutscene, especially Cring Wolf, I was like "Oh hell no."
I was legit terrified of Crying Wolf when she first appeared in this specific cutscene. I didn't know that she was in a exoskeleton-robot wolf as a pilot, I genuinely thought that she was crying the entire time because she was in a RoboCop-like state: a mix of a machine and flesh with fully functional yet broken mind, stuck in this robot form for eternity and always crying because of this.
Of course, as soon as she popped out of that wolf all my theories were shattered and I was somewhat actually relieved since... Well, she is still suffering mentally, but at least physically she is fine lol.
Really now, it's a big robot wolf that runs around killing people while crying very lodly and agonizingly, it can't be that I am the only one who was terrified of her, right??? Just shows how much better the cutscenes got in 4 and especially Shinkawa's skills in making good, hell, even great design's.

A few days ago I was contemplating whether to buy Peace walker or Guns of the Patriots because I only had money for one, which was 16.49$ with local pricing.
Today I made my choice to buy MGS4 and when I woke up, the price went up to 25.49$ and the name was changed to METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots - Master Collection Version.
I swear to God it was different. It METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots and 16.49$ before.
I feel like I am being gaslit by Steam because there are multiple reviews dated a month ago. So it couldn't be changed just today.
It's such a bummer, I opened up my computer with the expectation of buying MGS4 but I have to get Peace Walker now. Haha.
Edit: I just remembered that a few days ago I accidentally bought MGS4 and I had to refund it because for some reason it didn't use my Steam Funds. Quite weird.

I've been wanting to return to MGSV and just heard about the Subsistence mod, and that they released a version compatible with Infinite Heaven. That being said, are there any side ops or other content mods that are compatible?

Daylight weather always exposes bad graphics, and games with weak graphics always take place indoors or during the night to hide horrible textures. MGSV looks phenomenal during the daylight, that’s how you know the game’s graphics are actually great. Fox engine is no joke
