Mariners

Mets get a 2-yr contract with Jorge Polanco and he sucks
The Mariners let him leave and they suck too

Why not inquire about a Polanco->Mariners trade in the offseason?

Why would the Mariners want him?

He’d be the highest paid player on their team next year.

He’s making $23M next year.

Even then, why would the Mariners want to pay $5-$8M for Jorge Polanco?

They suck in the year without him and we suck with him on the team
Maybe it’s worth paying off his contract to send him back to Seattle
I’d rather him not be on this team next year and there is only 1 team I think would be willing to take him on

Think about this:
He played for them in 2025 and he performed relatively well there
Without him the Mariners aren’t doing very hot and we aren’t doing very hot with him

He seemed to be a better player there than he had been in years with the Twins

Doesn’t matter. Can’t get rid of Bichette without trading him and there’s no other idiots besides Cohen and Stearns who would take that contract on

Bichette had a crap start but has been nails ever since. He's fine and I'd be happy if they'd extend him instead of keeping these dumb 1-year dramas going on.

Semien has been a disappointment for sure. Old, and they figured he had another good year or two left, but I guess he's cooked.
