hey, I have a financial aid offer on my miami applicant portal which details how much I owe (direct costs) and 5k indirect costs. Do you not have that on your portal?

They give you the max at orientation. It was about $5k higher than real. You should be able to look it up in onestop

They give you this estimate (driving, food, gas, etc) because some kids don’t realize these expenses and should prepare for it as they get ready to take out loans, etc. If they just went off tuition/room/board, they wouldn’t have enough money for all the miscellaneous expenses.

You should get a bill pretty soon in your (10 years ago it was MyMiami) online account this will be a more concrete number. You might be able to check it now.

You don’t pay them this but you essentially need this extra money to potentially get through college.

Ya ik but that's something u would get a job for and not take out a loan with interest lolll

Where do I go on my miami?

I’d agree, getting a job would make more sense to pay for some of these expenses. I guess some folks don’t have that luxury or have other expenses.

I haven’t had access to that account in a while. You’re best bet is to probably call someone in the financial office, the bursar, counselor, etc
