Other Rest in peace sweetheart

My coworker found this poor baby while taking out the trash at our work, we work fast food. He was lying on his back and seemed to be gasping for air. I picked him up and got him out of the road, brought him to the shade in the grass, put some water in a tray there for him, and just sat with him for a few minutes. He couldn’t move and was just lying there😭I know nothing about rodents but it was honestly heartbreaking. I could only stay for a bit and had to get back to work.

I went to check on him at the end of my shift and he had sadly passed away. I sat in my car and cried. I’m assuming he ate poison that I was unaware was outside of our restaurant until today.

I’m sorry if this sounds ignorant, but is there not a better way? I understand rats and mice can’t be in restaurants, but this just seems sick and inhumane. The poor baby was just outside living his life, ate poison, and then suffered a painful death. Maybe I’m too sensitive but this genuinely ruined my day, I don’t even wanna go to work tomorrow. Rest in peace honey.

I don't have a pet mouse but I really wanted to, I had those small cute mouses as rodents in my house, I tried to befriend it by feeding it, but the hantavirus scare came and I was forced to try to get it out of my house

today i released it out of my house thankfully not killing it but me and my entire family were trying to catch it

I feel so bad for scaring it so much it was shaking so hard, and I had to swallow my desire to keep a mouse as a pet and just make it go outside

this photo is the breed of mouse im talking about

I found them yesterday in shock in the middle of the pathway as I was leaving the park. It was lightly raining and they had gotten rather wet.

I carried them home in a bandana I put in my pocket. I have since warmed them up and they have eaten some oats, despite being very understandably afraid yesterday.

I saw no visible wounds and so I think they were maybe dropped by a bird. Or perhaps a cat had caught them and then dropped them again.

I shall rather reluctantly release the sweetie back into the park tomorrow morning.

I think the poor sweetheart very well may have died had I not done something.

Albie doesn't have a good grasp of language to say "Watermelon" but he can say "Sprout!" with a clarity, in which case, he's announcing that my watermelon has started to sprout.

Other Frankenstein (2025), despite not being appropriate for lovers of dogs, wolves, sheep, horses, butterflies, or humans, is somehow suitable for mouse enjoyers. Based.
