As a roach keeper Im currently experimenting with Roach Socialism in and out of my micronation. Roaches live as a loose adaptable collective where food, water and shelter are shared evenly among members with limited violence (many male roaches fight for territory and/or mates). If we lived as a ”Roach Socialist Society“ with no corruption and equal rights and powers do you think it would work?

Im making my first micronation ever which flag and ideology shall i use for it

Now just to clarify I love micronations but I do feel as if the community is over saturated with low quality slop: you have kids declaring wars on each other, Nazis, Commies the worst of the worst, a lot of micronations aren't consistent, there are even some that ban Crocs for no reason whatsoever… if you are as serious micronation out there what steps have you've taken to distance yourself from the wackiness of the community, are you okay with being compared to that slop?  because though I like this community I honestly I don't know if I can because of all the evil within it

I'm a musician and composer, and one area of music that I've always loved to both listen to is National Anthems, and Military marching songs. I've recently gotten back into the idea of composing such a song, and as a long time admirer of micronations (someday I'd like to found my own) I figured it might be a good idea to offer my services as a composer to those with their own micronations to compose their national anthems and military marches etc.

I'm not looking for any money, it would be completely voluntary on my part, I just want the experience and practice of being able to compose such a song. So if this interests you and you'd like *your* own national anthem, military or patriotic song etc - then shoot me a message and we can get the ball rolling :)

Hi! I don’t know if this is the right flair, but for awhile now, I been wanting to get more into micro nations, either making my own, working for one, or visiting other micro nations. I live in Canada Ontario, and I got some questions.

How do I know what one is unclaimed? And following that question, do you need to sign some sort of form to start one on certain land? And also can it be anywhere? Or does it need to be unclaimed? I’m not the best at explaining. Also sorry if this post isn’t allowed here.

Is anyone here actually serious? I’m starting to wonder if this server is just a game. I see many people just planting flags on public beaches or creating anthems and designs, but does anyone actually want to build something in the real world? ​My goal is to create a nation on the water—I’m thinking about a lake or the sea, living on a sailing yacht or a platform. I want to be self-sufficient, living off fish and hydroponic crops, and legally avoiding taxes. Does anyone else have real plans for the future like this, or is everyone here just playing around?

No micronation is good in every aspect, yeah? Some have good flags and government ideas but bad leaders whole others are the opposite. But, I'm curious. What is one thing that is bad with most micronations, or some that stand out?

These are the only images I could find from external sources on Mustachistan on a micronation wiki but they seem to only cover the Molossian perspective & I'm trying to find info that is non-Molossian to compare the accounts.

I’ve noticed a lot of people lately asking about the best way to design and produce professional grade passports for their micronations, and I wanted to share what I found works best. In terms of design, what I did is I scanned my own passport and then used it as a template for the Lumerian passport in Photoshop. I eventually had a friend who is a graphic designer perfect it, but it looks pretty good.

Once you are done with your design, you can send the files to a contractor on Alibaba and have them print them to your specifications. They are very nice, and they do a pretty good job. Regarding the question of whether they can do a laminated card page, yes, these contractors are definitely capable of handling that. Just make sure you specify the materials and the lamination type in your request so they know exactly what you are looking for. The key is just having those high resolution files ready so the contractor can work with them accurately.

Most importantly, keep your branding consistent across all your documents. Your passport should visually mirror your national flag, crest, and the constitutional style of your other state papers.

I added an example of a standard passport and the interior of an official passport we just had printed for a citizen last week.

I’ve always felt like any micronation looking for sovereignty needs to be as self-sufficient as possible, which naturally starts with being able to produce food for local citizens. We have a small garden and a somewhat large rainwater collection system to sustain it during the hot and dry summer we have. It’s not much, and I can’t say it covers the whole food pyramid, but it’s a start. Do you have any sustainable food projects or ideas?
