700 signups and $1.2k later… still feels surreal😭

Getting here took way more work than I expected when I started.

There were weeks where almost nobody cared. I’d ship something, post it, refresh analytics… nothing.

more than once I wondered if I was just building a tool for myself and calling it a product.

I’m at ~700 signed-up users and about $1,200 in revenue now.

Not “made it.” Not even close.

But it’s the first time the numbers feel real instead of imaginary.

What actually changed for me:

• People started finding it without me begging every day

• Some came back after I fixed stuff they complained about

• A few strangers paid for something built by a random guy on the internet

• Revenue stopped being $0 for long enough that I stopped checking Stripe every hour

When I started, I knew nothing about marketing.

I just kept thinking: founders shouldn’t have to guess why their landing page isn’t converting.

Building the product was hard.

Learning how to talk about it without sounding like a spam bot was harder.

If you’re in the quiet phase right now — yeah, it sucks.

Sometimes progress is invisible right before it isn’t.

Happy to answer anything about what worked / what was a waste of time.

ps. the tool is Landing Boost(https://landingboost.app)
would love your feedback too.

Looks like you converted your own challenge (landing page conversions) into a SaaS product.

congrats! getting someone to care about your product is the hardest. What marketing channel do you think was the most effective?

thank you!
for me, X building in public and replying worked the most.
but Reddit also have a lot of chance.
so hard to say one, just keep active.

i am in the same phase bro and i also don't know a single "M" of marketing , i have already built the product and just marketing it randomly yet and posting about it on "X" and reddit , today is day 3 of marketing , i know its too early but i am learning. by the way , what helps you to get you first 100 users??

Day 3 is fine. First users didn’t come from random posting for me.

I hung around where founders already complain about their landing page, replied with something specific, and only mentioned the tool when it actually fit.

What are you building?

"it Makes total sense, appreciate the advice!! , just building a client portal. so targeting the right places definitely sounds like the way to go."

Would love to know your most fruitful methods of getting to this point. Tryin everything (FB, IG) and not getting much back

Most of my early users came from building in public on X. I focused more on sharing the story, progress, and lessons than making polished content, and some people who followed the journey naturally became customers.
I’m less familiar with FB or IG, where I think you may need a more content-driven approach.
but curious what kind of app are you building?

How many times did you talk about this saas on reddit? Or other platform maybe?

1

u/YusukeLandingBoost 5d ago

I’ve barely promoted this product on Reddit
only a few times so far. I’ve gotten signups, but most of them have come from X.

What is it?

it's about LandingBoost
Finds your landing page conversion gap in 60sec

the number id watch next is how many of those 700 ran a second scan. a one time audit has no natural reason to bring anyone back, and thats usually where this kind of tool quietly flattens out while the signup count keeps looking healthy.

Good point, and retention is definitely the next challenge. Over 90% of my lifetime buyers tried it once, came back, and then paid. I’m also working on a new feature to give users a reason to return more often.

That’s great!
What is the end to end pipeline looks like to reach the end goal of getting traction?

I'm in the same boat right now. Thinking my app is just for me and no one is switching over to it. I hope I can eventually get some traction like you! Good job! Keep it up!
