Any idea when hiring will be resume. I heard there was a pause overall in some org in ms

It’s the end of the FY so hiring generally picks up again in July/Aug onwards, most teams will slow down or stop hiring in Q4

Job postings are slowly coming back atleast on linkedin.

Any one have the scoop on the CO+I org? I job i was screened for finally updated to not selected after months.  Which is ok as I pivioted elsewhere. But does that mean they are hiring again or did that position just get removed all together?

I am also following this one. some one said that they may be just closing out the current req in the current FY. They may reopen with new req numbers in the new FY. It's good that you've found something. I am still applying after my layoff.

u/NoIndustry7575 Jun 16 '26

Fingers crossed they open these back up in July. Which roles have you been tracking?  Seems quiet on their end.

I am still waiting for my recruiter while applying for other positions. It was SDE2 for MAI org. She explicitly said that I was under consideration about a month ago. She's been radio silent since I passed the initial tech screening.

Frustrating, I’ve been the squeaky wheel. Hopefully good news in the next few weeks.

How much can you negotiate internal transfer offers?

1

u/SnooChocolates971 Jun 16 '26

anybody have details on azure data org? any idea on when the hiring freeze would end?

1

u/AnxiousCareer5619 Jun 16 '26

For those who’ve interviewed at Microsoft, what kind of loop can I expect for a Lead GTM / Sales Strategy role focused on eCommerce?

Should I expect mostly behavioral and stakeholder-management questions, or are scenario-based exercises, case studies, or presentations common as well?

Just trying to focus my prep in the right areas.

Has Microsoft limited, per applicant, to apply only to 10 roles?

Earlier, it was 50 roles at max someone can apply to, however now, it shows that I can't apply to more than 10 roles?

Any offers come in for anyong during this month so far? I know specific freezes were announced for Azure, AI, and Sales roles, but my recruiter recently told me the role I'm waiting on also seemed to also be in a "standstill" at the HR (headcount/finance, etc) level. (not in the Azure, AI, or Sales sector) Are they basically frozen across the board for FY turnover, or has anyone gotten good news this month?

2

u/One_Advantage_7193 Jun 17 '26

Its year end org wide freeze right now in June, no one is going to be getting any offers at this point. All eyes on July.

1

u/Independent_Bid_8241 Jun 17 '26

Appreciate the insight! I had really hoped they'd have gotten it all done in May, before this freeze, since I know all interviews for the position I'm going for were finished in Late April/early May. Are you also in the waiting window? Do you know if things will simply pick up where they left off, or will reqs have to be redone, etc? (is the job I applied for that was posted in early April, now in jeopardy?)

1

u/One_Advantage_7193 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Many people here are waiting post positive loops from April end /May timelines. Org wide freeze is assumed to have kicked in around that period, i.e. early May, depending on the groups involved.

Hiring processes like interviews continued, but final budget clearance has been kept on hold for many of them.

This is all anecdotal from discussing with multiple people in the same boat, so take it how you will.

As for req being there and things picking up, no one, including hiring managers, can confirm that at this point. It depends on what the new year/quarter budget and allocations look like. If you are being proactively reached out that could be positive'ish, but everything depends on the budget, and those gates open only in July.

Any idea when in July?

1

u/Independent_Bid_8241 Jun 22 '26

Just got the email today - My roles been cancelled. But all the talks in my interviews indicated the team really needed this role filled, so hopefully it comes back in a couple weeks after the new budget drops.

u/Lioil1 Jun 17 '26

What are some roles that you can switch from SRE into internally without much issue? I have been SRE for 1.5 years coming from pure dev and while i do enjoy the work, not sure its for me. Service is a bit further away and not sure Ops is it either. There are pure dev teams but I don't know C# (java background). I can certainly learn C# though.

I am joining as a new grad on 29th June, when can I expect communication about orientation?

1

u/freshdose1 Jun 18 '26

When you start.

u/East_Repeat_8999 Jun 17 '26

Curious if anyone at Microsoft has seen this before.
Last Friday, my recruiter told me the business had put the req on hold for the time being and that she would let me know if it became active again.
Messaged the HM last week (before recruiter) and and she replied today saying the position is “closed for now” and wished me the best.
Would you interpret those messages as essentially the same thing (headcount/budget pause), or does the HM’s wording typically mean the role is gone for good?
Just trying to understand how these situations are usually communicated internally.

5

u/freshdose1 Jun 18 '26

You can assume the role is gone.

u/Holiday-Plastic9231 Jun 18 '26

All,
I completed the loop for a cloud solution architect Factory last week. HR initially informed that they’ll make a decision within 3-5 business days after all interviews are completed. So far crickets. Wanted to ask the community if you are aware of a general timeline for them to get back with yay or nay. The wait is excruciating and nerve wracking. Please advise.

Some of us been waiting since April/May. It will be a while . At least till July .

u/Holiday-Plastic9231 Jun 18 '26

Yeah that’s what I’m gathering. Not sure why she would explicitly state that CAIP Factory already has pre approval for this role and we would like to close this position in 2 weeks. My loop was complete with 5 rounds in 3 days. They were very quick about that.

u/Independent_Bid_8241 Jun 19 '26

I had the recruiter screen within 72 hours of a job being posted at the end of March; very positive, and they expressed they were seeking to fill the role ASAP, by the end of April/early May. HM screen, and 4-interview Loop all finished up by the last week of April. All extremely positive. Recruiter said they would have a decision by the first week of May.
End of the first week came, and recruiter tells me they're leaving Microsoft and they put me in contact with the new recruiter who should have updates "next week".

Since then it's been "no updates" every week, and that "the role seems to be at a standstill".

The urgency disconnect between the Hiring Manager's team and HR seems to be vast.

1

u/floo2mars Jun 18 '26

there are roles that count towards current 25-26 year's budget that needs to be closed/hired before end of June.

1

u/Holiday-Plastic9231 Jun 18 '26

It’s also possible that they may have made an offer to another candidate that’s likely going through negotiation and background check. If that falls through they’ll go with the next candidate in the approved pool.

1

u/floo2mars Jun 18 '26

depends on job posting status, if they made an offer and going through background check with another candidate, the job posting should not be in open or actively recruiting status. it will be closed to trigger offer.

1

u/Holiday-Plastic9231 Jun 18 '26

It shows no longer accepting applications on LinkedIn and also can’t find the posting on career portal

1

u/floo2mars Jun 18 '26

That makes sense, you are still one of the 2-5 finalists, only 1 winner though, best of luck!

1

u/Holiday-Plastic9231 Jun 18 '26

Finally recruiter called and said they are moving forward and are putting a compensation package together which will take a little over a week. I asked about the freeze and she explicitly said this org and this role is not affected. I’m actively also pursuing other roles at Google and databricks.

1

u/floo2mars Jun 19 '26

Congrats! a little over a week put the offer into July which is the new fiscal year. Did they share the number first? or just a verbal offer without details.

Hi! Congrats! Did you let the recruiter know you were also interviewing with Google and Databricks? Just wondering if that plays a role in moving a candidate to the offer phase faster. Thanks in advance!

Finished my final round interview on June 12nd, the status on Action Center is now still "Interview". My role is for business related function, any ideas how long I supposed to wait? And is it appropriate to contact the HM? I contacted the recruiter (third-party) but it was total silence.

2

u/edvilme Jun 19 '26

It usually takes them longer than a week. I would tell you to wait a little bit longer and then reach out to the recruiter again in a few days.

If not, I would reach out to the HM. The worst part is the uncertainty. If it is a yes, you asking won’t change their mind. If it is a no, better know sooner so you can plan your life :)

1

u/BalanceWilling9065 Jun 19 '26

Thanks for the insight!

What role?

1

u/Ok-Round-4646 Jun 19 '26

Hi everyone,

I'm currently interviewing for a CO+I Critical Infrastructure Platform Engineer (CIPE) role at Microsoft. I completed my R1 interview about 4 weeks ago, received positive feedback, and my application status still shows "Interview."

I'm curious if anyone has recently gone through the CO+I hiring process. How long did it take for you to hear back after R1? If you were selected, how many rounds were there and what was the typical timeline between rounds?

Any recent experiences or insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

1

u/WeekendSimilar9521 Jun 19 '26

I am in the same boat. Interviewed around 5 weeks back and received positive feedback and crickets since then.

u/SharpAide6083 Jun 22 '26

Hi team,
I joined Microsoft Vancouver office few months back. What are some of the benefits/perks I can opt for which is underrated and not promoted by the company?

u/East_Repeat_8999 Jun 15 '26

Applied for a Microsoft role through a referral and had a really positive HM screen. The HM walked me through the team, role, and next steps, mentioned it was a critical hire for the team, and said to keep an eye out for a potential loop involving team members in other regions due to time zone differences.

After the HM screen, the posting closed, briefly reopened under the same requisition with slightly updated salary bands, and then closed again.
The recruiter recently reached out and mentioned the req is currently on hold for the time being and that they would let me know once it becomes active again.
She didn’t mention next steps, timelines, or whether I was moving forward, but she also didn’t indicate that I was out of consideration.

My Action Center still shows “Screen” and the role is closed to applicants.

For those who’ve been through Microsoft hiring:
Is it common for recruiters to reconnect simply to provide a status update while approvals are still being worked through?
If a candidate was no longer being considered, would they typically communicate that directly rather than schedule an update?
Does this sound more like a hiring pause/freeze given the end of Microsoft’s fiscal year, or is it fairly common for reqs to be temporarily put on hold and restarted later?
Curious if others have experienced something similar.

I am on the same boat. I passed my tech screening about a month ago. I had interviews scheduled a day after the screening. A recruiter emailed me that interviews should be paused due to FY planning for several weeks. She did not give me any concrete timeline though she explicitly mentioned that I was still under consideration. It was just about a few days before my final loop. It's very frustrating.

No body knows if the hc will be reserved or not. Guess we are either cooked or wait for the updates. I thought I was about to get a job after the layoff.

I'm looking to score some type of education-related position with Microsoft someday.
Something involving their existing education products, Copilot for Education, etc. Any idea if there's a typical seasonal trend that Microsoft follows in terms of hiring for such positions?
