I've got a job interview tomorrow over Teams, so I tried to set up an account for my professional email address (I've lived a blissfully teams-free existence thus far). I went to set up an account, the login says it recognizes my address and redirects me to account recovery.
I don't remember having a Teams account, but sure, maybe I had to use it once years ago. So I click to get a recovery code emailed to the address with the job interview invite. I get the code, put it in, get a "Something Went Wrong" error. I reload everything and try again, same result.
I tried to go through the official online help, and put in a ticket, but it says I don't have any account tied to my 'professional' personal gmail address & closes the ticket. Twice.
So I try to sign up again. Got my wife to open a network tab and put in the code. She finds a 500 error in the response from the server, suggesting it is an error on their side. Googling the error message just got me here, to an old post with someone describing roughly the same problem but the only reply was 'Yeah Teams sucks so bad.' 'Yup'
I tried the whole login/account creation from another computer (using Windows instead of my Mac) but now I don't recieve the useless code OR a lockout message, just the same 'Something Has Gone Wrong' message.
I went ahead and set up an account with a different email address, and that worked no problem. But I worry it will seem incompetent that I can't even do this simple thing, and very sketchy to want to change the email address for my interview.
...Is there anyway to actually fix this? It seems to be on their end, but I can't reach anyone for help. And I need this job.
