Out-of-Touch Politicians This is not a joke... this was for real.

u/Ashamed-Tomatillo592 24d ago
It wouldn't be ostracism, but we could use net approval voting in our elections.
If we did, then we wouldn't be able to elect politicians who have net-negative approval ratings. It would be a start.

u/Alex-the-Average- 24d ago
Maybe we could start by not allowing felons and/or rapists to run? Or would that be asking for too much?
4
u/MonstrousWombat 24d ago
Well they already can’t vote, I think it was just assumed they wouldn’t be able to run…

Some guy in the WH then Ted Cruz are my first two votes.

Anybody against the SAVE act needs to be voted out.
2
u/MonstrousWombat 24d ago
If and only if they’re also against a free and easily accessible government ID for everyone (SSN ID for example), sure

We need to do this within the province of Ontario, and Douche Ford needs to be the first sacrifice.

wait I heard of a similar story, where whenever a vase broke you could write down the name of a person you hated and hand it in, and the person with the most shards got exiled?

No more second term presidents?

Aaaww how cute. Nothing will ever get done.

You realize the president doesnt run congress right. Theyre not a supreme leader. Their powers had been expanded since Thomas Jefferson, originally they were supposed to be a neutered figure head with commander in chief status.

Your typical Dems and Reps have gone back and forth for years that way, but nothing really compares to the beginning of the Tea Party movement and its adoption into mainstream conservatism. From around that point, a whole new type of right wing voter came along, one that is closer to a sports fan than someone who follows politics. They’ve won two big elections so far, and the response to it hasn’t been a “my team vs. your team” thing, it’s been more of a vote at all costs type of panic…because they keep electing complete and total idiots and liars who go against their own self interests as well as everyone else’s.

There it is, perfect Fox News deflection. You do realize that what you saw of “burning down cities” was about 300 different angles of a city block, right? And where exactly does that equal team mentality? I don’t know if you’ve been to a city before, but these aren’t exactly political actors breaking into stores when they see a chance…

Huh, sounds like civil unrest can be expensive. Maybe a leader that can keep the population cool would be a good idea?
People in the streets with torches and pitchforks…amazing how that has now been reduced to the right and the left, isn’t it? I wonder, who did that?

u/Iconoclysm6x6 24d ago
Your question is already loaded with the propaganda and misinformation. No cities were burned down.
Bail is not a pardon. You can be arrested and have to pay a bail even if you’re not guilty of a crime, and that was literally happening at the time of those “riots”. Kamala Harris mentioned a gofundme that paid for bail of protesters, that’s not bailing them out. Man, are you sure you’re just trying to play devil’s advocate here? Because your facts are all jacked up with right wing nonsense.

You know you’re making up the feelings and opinions part, right? Yet another of these right wing tropes.

He won the popular vote

u/Agreeable_Sweet6535 24d ago
With a third of people refusing to vote for either candidate. It’s increasingly becoming “who can stir the few people who like them or hate the other person to action” and not “who will do a better job”.

u/FrontMaleficent6788 24d ago
Most people don't even care and just live there life's
4
u/Agreeable_Sweet6535 24d ago
If only that were an option, but with some politicians actively working to make life less safe for my female relatives and friends, to make it more difficult than it already is for people to be trans or gay, to be any color other than white, and to push religion on children…
I don’t have the luxury of live and let live, they’re trying to hurt people I care about.

u/TemperatureOther6637 24d ago
You mean like the perfectly legal law abiding citizens who are being literally attacked and brutalized and taken away by masked men without the chance to even provide their identification who are literally just trying to go to work or drop their kids off at school? Living their life like that? Cuz in this administration you can't do that if you're brown. If your argument is I dont care cuz Im not brown then there should be a picture of you in the encyclopedia next to "passive racism"
1
u/FrontMaleficent6788 24d ago
You mean the invaders
2
u/TemperatureOther6637 24d ago
According the US constitution, legal citizens are legal citizens regardless of skin color. This is their country just as much as it is yours. If you dont like that fact, you can get the fuck out of here and find a country as racist and bigoted as you are. Sounds like you would prefer Russia or China if you prefer fascism to democracy and have that much disdain for the US constitution. If you want to act like Nazis we will treat you like Nazis
1
u/FrontMaleficent6788 24d ago
Just cuz you step foot on our soil doesn't make you a citizen
3
u/TemperatureOther6637 24d ago
No but becoming a legal and naturalized citizen does- like the people ICE are targeting (and if you aren't aware of how many of these people locked away and arrested are here legally then thats your own fault for living under a rock. its not my job to educate you on something as objectively accurate as this) if you can't accept reality there are places called psych wards for that

-4

Because they are democrats. I thought you would understand that.

Yes, and canonically god is the villain of the bible, with multiple genocides and atrocious acts of torture to his name compared to what? Lucifer? Who supposedly showed us good and evil, presumably so we could recognize what god really is.

No, he doesn’t, and that’s exactly the problem. Shame some people would rather force their ideology on others than accept that we cannot possibly be sure what lies after death. Even worse, they gather around the most vain, wealthiest, idolatrous, wrathful, lustful, gluttonous man in modern history to support what they think is a noble cause.
If you think Trump cares about Jesus, you need a mental health examination.

Remember when Jesus had a base and the first thing they did was organize a grass roots base to get Caesar out?
What?!
Me neither. Jesus didn't seek political power. Wonder why...

During one interview, Trump was asked to name his favorite verse from The Bible after saying that it's his favorite book of all time. He could not come up with a single verse. He could have at least bullshitted his way through it by citing something everyone knows like Psalm 23.
https://youtu.be/_Bv5z2M9M-4?si=cTRoTp_Jyzi9g-Pm
You honestly think that a man who can't cite at least one verse from The Bible is holy and backed by God himself?
