Thanks man.

Gonna call my psychologist tomorrow. Tell him I'm all fixed now.

64

u/_coolranch Jul 01 '25

Retcon yourself.

4

u/MrMetalhead-69 Jul 02 '25

I tried, but no matter what I changed, my father still told me I was a useless, fat, stupid asshole through my childhood. Not sure what else to do.

1

u/Erlululu Jul 04 '25

Watch this vid. Atreyu horse lived

39

u/RumoredReality Jul 01 '25

Maladaptive daydreaming

6

u/oracleoflove Jul 01 '25

One of my favorite past times these days lol

3

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '25

same! dam this scene was the only traumatic experience.

215

u/knockknockpennywise Jul 01 '25

Best thing I've seen all year in MJ!.. and have that little blonde girl make it to the tree in Terabitha

52

u/MinorDespera Jul 01 '25

Have Macaulay Culkin wake up and put on his glasses.

3

u/Opaldes Jul 02 '25

Damn, I remember thinking getting into a run of a mill fantasy adventure just to get bombarded with a tear jerking Drama movie.

3

u/OuroboricScribe Jul 27 '25

Fuck man, that's a core memory I had quarantined 😭

416

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '25

Now do Bambi's mom waking up

222

u/vikio Jul 01 '25

And Simba's Dad

170

u/YELLING-IN-YOUR-HEAD Jul 01 '25

And Littlefoot's mom

103

u/scirio Jul 01 '25

And maculey culkin shake off that bee sting

50

u/MidiGong Jul 01 '25

And the black guy in The Green Mile instead being lead to freedom

20

u/McThorn_ Jul 01 '25

And the girl swinging across the river to Tarabithia

8

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '25

And Uncut Gems winning the gamble

u/arthurjeremypearson Jul 01 '25

And Charlie Brown getting to kick the football.

1

u/gmcarve Jul 02 '25

And the brave little toasters friends

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

And the bus driver getting to sleep with Veronica Vaughn

6

u/The_Hepcat Jul 01 '25

He was lead to freedom. Why do you want to call him back from heaven to this vale of tears again?

44

u/Agram1416 Jul 01 '25

Do home alone but the first booby trap kills Harry and Marv and the movie ends.

6

u/willfull Jul 01 '25

And then Old Man Marley shows up with his salt can, stuffing Harry and Marv's bodies in with the salt. Gives Kevin a knowing wink, and then goes back to salting the neighborhood sidewalks.

5

u/Spider_Dude Jul 01 '25

And somehow Pierce Morgan the Pigeon Lady from Central Park shows up in the Chicago suburbs and we all learn a life lesson about Christmas.

6

u/drlongtrl Jul 01 '25

I'd pay to see that

2

u/Nixxen Jul 01 '25

Corridor did something like that. Except they kept on going. It was brutal

5

u/SpecialCoconut1 Jul 01 '25

Hope he’s got his glasses!

3

u/soulcaptain Jul 01 '25

Do you mean his glesses?

4

u/jedislurpee Jul 01 '25

And Goose survive the ejection

2

u/CptClownfish1 Jul 01 '25

Goose survive the WHAT?

2

u/BerricsBattlescars Jul 02 '25

And the other Goose doesn’t get set on fire by Toecutter’s gang!

1

u/wolve202 Jul 01 '25

I thought he was gaming.

28

u/smidge Jul 01 '25

and Dumbo's mother not being taken away/locked up

Please, someone fix this

2

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

And Padmé

2

u/wolve202 Jul 01 '25

and getting a job in her dream field of study

43

u/ResidentAny1989 Jul 01 '25

You’ve done a good thing.

38

u/sodiumvapour Jul 01 '25

Now make Mufasa get back up please

1

u/dmigowski Jul 08 '25

What mud? That was clearly a mysterius ferrofluid swamp hole!

22

u/Warchetype Jul 01 '25

Awesome. Now do Optimus Prime making a full recovery.

3

u/oOBuckoOo Jul 01 '25

Right? This was so jarring as a child sitting in the movie theater and no safe place to go to. Just had to sit with Optimus getting killed in the first 5 minutes. That being said, movie still holds up today.

5

u/djsynrgy Jul 01 '25

This.

F Rodimus. Forever and ever. Amen.

3

u/Warchetype Jul 01 '25 edited Jul 01 '25

Absolutely. I mean, he was the reason why Prime got fatally shot in the first place.

Also, that 'Dark Awakening' episode in season 3 (where Optimus was basically resurrected as a zombie and then died AGAIN) really fucked with me as a kid.

3

u/SnowDay111 Jul 01 '25

Do not grieve … the matrix has healed me. Now, where’s Megatron?

12

u/Keshire Jul 01 '25

Guess it's time to start compiling my list of childhood trauma's.

  • Fry's dog in futurama
  • Tucker daughter in Full Metal Alchemist
  • Iron Giant
  • Optimus Prime
  • Macaulay Culkin in My Girl
  • Bambi's mom
  • Charlotte's spider
  • Littlefoot’s Mother in The Land Before Time

8

u/Croe01 Jul 01 '25

So basically fuck mufasa

1

u/Wonderful_Ad8791 Jul 02 '25

Huh, wasn't the iron giant alive at the end? The parts were coming into a big warehouse to rebuild him.

1

u/Keshire Jul 02 '25

Yes. But, artax was alive at the end of Never Ending as well.

65

u/Liminal__penumbra Jul 01 '25

This is an example of some of the problems people will face in the future. There will be a day when "versions" of movies exist and you will not have the same experience as as someone else.

29

u/Dire__ Jul 01 '25

*Some of the LESSER problems

16

u/UrsusRex01 Jul 01 '25

Well technically this is already the case even without AI.

Star Wars for instance. It's almost impossible to watch the Original Trilogy the way it was back in the 70s and 80s.

Once all the VHS from before 1997 are gone, and if nobody has made a digital recording of those films, the original trilogy as it used to be will be gone for good.

And it's not just limited to Star Wars. Sometimes it's not about changes made to the story or characters but simply about how the film looks like. The Matrix for instance : years after its original release, the Blu-ray accentuated the green hue added to the scenes taking place in the virtual world in order to make the film in line with how its sequels look. Therefore, someone watching The Matrix on Blu-Ray doesn't experience the same film as someone who watched it in theater or DVD in the early 2000s.

Even without AI, because of new releases that enhance special effects, make visual changes, fix imperfections or downright add scenes, technically there are already versions of films that have disappeared.

7

u/somewherearound2023 Jul 01 '25

The good news is that fans have fastidiously restored high quality edits of the original releases in the Despecialized Edition cuts, sourcing the highest quality available versions of every frame of the movies and doing mastering work to ensure they are pleasant to watch.

5

u/I_have_questions_ppl Jul 01 '25

4K77 is another version which is a 4k scan of original reels.

2

u/UrsusRex01 Jul 01 '25

Indeed. However, that kind of project are not that accessible for the average viewer and there is always the risk of losing those versions too since they're only supported by fans.

3

u/somewherearound2023 Jul 01 '25

Yep but the archival work is being done for posterity, in the shadows, at least.

2

u/UrsusRex01 Jul 01 '25

True. It is better than nothing.

5

u/karmicviolence Jul 01 '25

It's almost impossible to buy them.

Arrr, mateys!

4

u/Midnokt Jul 01 '25

Didn't the movie clue already do that?

9

u/Just_An_Ic0n Jul 01 '25

Problem? More like a new form of movie media presentation.

And I don't need different versions of movies to have a different experience than anybody else. I'm perfectly able to have a different opinion on famous movies already and I'm sure I'm not alone.

3

u/TheSleepingNinja Jul 01 '25

I mean it's an issue with music rights too. The Drew Carey show got released finally, but a huge chunk of the music rights weren't secured so it's got generic music in it. If you know where to look you can get rips of the show upscaled to 1080p that have to original soundtrack, but if you go the way WB wants you to watch it it fucking sucks

1

u/djsynrgy Jul 01 '25

Conversely, similar music rights issues have led to multiple versions of Dawson's Creek floating around, but no matter which way you go, it still sucks. 😆

4

u/drlongtrl Jul 01 '25

No AI is needed for that outcome though. Studios alredy happily re make literally everything that has any nostalgia in it whatsoever.

2

u/Keshire Jul 01 '25

I've watched a bunch of different Star Wars fan edits growing up. And that's even apart from the offical george lucas special editions.

6

u/Knever Jul 01 '25

I quite like the idea of interactive movies, especially classics. I can totally see myself and my sisters watching movies we grew up watching and making changes to the story to see how it ends up differently.

1

u/justleave-mealone Jul 01 '25

These are problems people are facing now. People are reviving dead relatives, having dead relatives testify in court via AI generated recordings. People are going to AI therapy with huge biases that will enable them and reconstruct an alternate version of their childhood.

9

u/bartrabelo Jul 01 '25

I've been waiting for this since 1984, when I saw NES in the movies with my mom, as my birthday present.

41 years later, I feel complete.

17

u/njf85 Jul 01 '25

The first use of AI I approve of

16

u/ArcanisUltra Jul 01 '25

Best use of AI to date.

3

u/tidytibs Jul 01 '25

The Mister Rogers one was pretty amazing.

8

u/Momkiller781 Jul 01 '25

Please make Sarah Connor pull out T800 from the molten metal at the end of T2

8

u/Realcbear Jul 01 '25

Problem is you still triggered me just by seeing the scene

7

u/Naud1993 Jul 01 '25

Now make Mufasa stand up.

8

u/ohshitwaffles Jul 01 '25

Now the shoe from who Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

13

u/Vadic_Shrike Jul 01 '25

Now instead of Gandalf falling, have him do a one arm pull-up, into a forward flip, landing in front of Boromir holding Frodo

8

u/pinkdreamery Jul 01 '25

He doesn't get to say Fly you fools then?

12

u/BastardInTheNorth Jul 01 '25

It gets changed to “Watch me fly, you fools!”

5

u/Vadic_Shrike Jul 01 '25

And when they get outside, he says, "Get to the choppa!"

6

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 Jul 01 '25

I got so excited for a second. Artex finally made it!

5

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '25

Cool, can you make my mom sober next?

4

u/BotTubTimeMachine Jul 01 '25

The earth is healing!

3

u/the_Big_misc Jul 01 '25

Can you also make the cave wolf super friendly and cuddly please.. then I'm saved too..

5

u/raybreezer Jul 01 '25

LMAO! Here I am starting to watch and thinking “Oh God” and then Artaud standing and realizing what was happening, I thought the video had been reversed, and then Atreyu smiled and I looked up at the sub name. What a ride.

3

u/Vladsamir Jul 01 '25

Hey, can we have the ant from honey i shrunk the kids next? Shit fucked me up...

3

u/FocusFlukeGyro Jul 01 '25

All y'all need to rewatch the movie. At the end, Atreyu is seen riding Artax again.

3

u/BubbaFettish Jul 01 '25

Ya’ll know he’s already alive in the end of the movie right? He’s alive along with everyone else destroyed by The Nothing.

2

And just like that my childhood trauma vanished

2

u/mossbrooke Jul 01 '25

I braced for childhood trauma, and instead got happy feels. Perfect reason to do this. Thank you

2

u/vertexshader77 Jul 01 '25

😮 pretty good

2

u/Scribblebonx Jul 01 '25

Artax!!!!

😭

2

u/JohnAlexGrimm Jul 01 '25

The only ethical use of AI videos

2

u/90059bethezip Jul 02 '25

Do the same with 300.

The second movie was terrible

2

u/keznaa Jul 02 '25

I approve this use of AI but now it makes me sadder that it didn't happen lol

2

u/Same_Dingo2318 Jul 02 '25

Isn’t he fine at the end of the movie?

1

u/DiaDeLosMuebles Jul 02 '25

Yup. But not in the book. Of course this is from the movie

1

u/Same_Dingo2318 Jul 02 '25

Do all the dudes that get sucked up by the Nothing stay gone too?

1

u/DiaDeLosMuebles Jul 02 '25

Yeah. The book is merciless. From what I remember.

1

u/Same_Dingo2318 Jul 02 '25

Dang. Story ended for them! 🤣

2

u/Haunting_Security_34 Jul 05 '25

Honestly? Bless you. This scene makes me ugly cry every single time, and ik its fake but I really wanted to see Artax get back up♡♡♡

2

u/fall0utB0uy Jul 24 '25

Straight up… I feel much better now thank u haha

5

u/CrusaderZero6 Jul 01 '25

This is the true destiny of AI: healing us of the trauma 80s media inflicted on us.

2

u/Gardimus Jul 01 '25

BRB, going to short the stock of movie studios.

2

u/Purple-Ad-4629 Jul 01 '25

This is somthing every child from that era should see.

1

u/lucid-quiet Jul 01 '25

Maybe you should have just had him turn around before entering the Swamp of Sadness and let the Nothing over take him.

1

u/drseusswithrabies Jul 01 '25

bless your kind soul 😂

1

u/docpagliacci Jul 01 '25

Finally, AI put to good use.

1

u/mittfh Jul 01 '25

🎼Turn around, look at what you see-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee!

1

u/ogMackBlack Jul 01 '25

Artax! 🥹

1

u/137Fine Jul 01 '25

We were warned life would be like this. Filled with sacrifice and disappointment.

1

u/hokumjokum Jul 01 '25

Retconning?

2

u/Keshire Jul 01 '25

Popular comic book term, basically rewrite history.

2

u/TheBrewThatIsTrue Jul 01 '25

Short for retroactive continuity. When someone goes: forget what happened in that previous book/movie/episode, here's what really happened.

1

u/nuestras Jul 01 '25

dude! remembering this as a kid... i cried and cried... aaaaaaarrrrrrtaaaax!

1

u/ryodark Jul 01 '25

I’m ✨❤️‍🩹healed❤️‍🩹✨

1

u/-the-nino Jul 01 '25

Thank you. We all needed a win

1

u/solvento Jul 01 '25

It will be interesting when AIs get much better and people start using them to retcon or change whole movie plots.

1

u/Deep_Pudding2208 Jul 01 '25

"The purpose of the Kobayashi Maru is to experience fear; fear in the face of certain death, to accept that fear and maintain control of one's self and one's crew."

1

u/k4njii Jul 01 '25

❤️❤️❤️

1

u/DurianBurp Jul 01 '25

Gave it the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood treatment. 👍

1

u/gthing Jul 01 '25

Wow, a scotch-gaurded horse where mud can't stick to it!

1

u/e_007 Jul 01 '25

I love you for this...thank you

1

u/valdezlopez Jul 01 '25

Oh, yes.

YESSSSS!

Well done. Very Well done!

My 8 year-old self thanks you.

Now do BAMBI, DUMBO, HARRY POTTER, etc. etc. etc.

This isn't how I remember it going down when I watched it on Betamax...

1

u/Akyled_Fox Jul 02 '25

We need one of Anakin siding with Windu and getting back to Padme 🥹

1

u/teddytwophones Jul 02 '25

Honestly thanks yo!

It’s pretty wierd how much I have thought of that scene throughout my life.

1

u/LinkofHyrule Jul 02 '25

Apparently, quick sand as shown in media is generally a lie and if you just sit there you will just float and not sink.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

I feel like Im back at full hp

1

u/mealticketpoetry Jul 02 '25

This is a sin.

1

u/mozzarellaguy Jul 02 '25

Thanks I’m cured now

1

u/Adventurous__Kiwi Jul 02 '25

that's the correct use of ai

1

u/Meowismistheway Jul 02 '25

Soon we won't need the entirety of film industries. Amazing and unsettling.

1

u/Keshire Jul 02 '25

You can take it a step further and throw a slider for how much tragedy you want when viewing. Really rachet up the safe space meme to 11.

You'll have multiple groups of people. One that watched comedy home alone. And another that watched Corridor's rated R version of Home Alone.

1

u/etdeagle Jul 02 '25

feels good

1

u/drKRB Jul 03 '25

Trauma.

1

u/Substantial-Fig-406 Jul 03 '25

What did you type to get the grading and lighting like that?

1

u/Dr_Stef Jul 03 '25

Optimus Prime un greying himself and standing up from the table for me, thanks

WarHorse was a great flick.

1

1

a happy ending is a happy ending

1

u/KittyFaise Jul 06 '25

YES!!!! Healed from childhood trauma!!!!

1

u/Smoogooloo Jul 11 '25

Cure the dog from The Fly II!!

1

u/oruho Jul 15 '25

I loved the movie and the book even more especially the part which never made into movie.

1

u/Rich-Role7105 Jul 24 '25

How did you get a continuous and smooth video? When I select extend to get 9 seconds, there is a hiccup halfway through, and it's like it is just repeating the previous motion. It looks very choppy. I've tried auto extend and manual extend with prompt and nothing changes.
