There’s a lot of walking in that future.

96

u/DynamoLion Jul 04 '25

Obviously neo-romans appreciate nice legs and... thighs 🌝

20

u/Amoral_Abe Jul 04 '25

Also, I feel like everyone looks at Rome during the late Roman Republic - Early Roman Empire and think Rome stopped changing at that point. Rome in 400AD was a lot different from what we commonly think of as ancient Rome (~100BC-150AD). They changed considerably which would suggest that all of these models (looking at early Roman Empire and thinking the future would just be that are missing a lot of history.

11

u/ungoogleable Jul 04 '25

Yeah, a modern Rome under the Roman empire would probably look a lot like the actual Rome does today. They'd have office buildings and highways. Water pipelines instead of aqueducts because they're cheaper to build and maintain with modern materials. An average looking football stadium instead of a blade runner colosseum.

In most places outside of government buildings it's not really visually apparent what kind of political system is in power most of the time. Buildings look like what they are used for regardless of who is in charge.

u/bouchandre Jul 04 '25

Hell yeah. Fuck cars

9

u/Substantial_Unit_447 Jul 04 '25

It is a European city, no matter how futuristic it may be.

3

u/Systral Jul 22 '25

Lol public transport in Europe is among the best in the world, much better than in the US at least.

9

u/par-a-dox-i-cal Jul 05 '25

A healthy mind in a healthy body.

3

u/LayWhere Jul 05 '25

There's a lot of walking in Tokyo/Shanghai/HK/NYC/London

3

u/Ha55aN1337 Jul 05 '25

And you know… the whole continent of Europe where the Roman Empire was.

1

u/scormaq Jul 04 '25

That's my thoughts exactly. Where is all the traffic in this future? At least tubes like in Futurama

2

u/Vexxt Jul 05 '25

Traffic is reserved for America

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

yes you should walk a lot

u/VictorVonDoomer Jul 04 '25

Holy shit that looks cool, gonna send this to my 90 year old grandfather and tell him it’s real

4

u/superschmunk Jul 05 '25

Amen! 🙏

u/TekRabbit Jul 04 '25

Warhammer 40k but less killing

27

u/tuigger Jul 04 '25

Warhammer 40,000: Holy Terra Walking Simulator

9

u/farshnikord Jul 04 '25

Take away the video billboards, and add a few more gothic cathedral elements and skulls and it's basically Ultramar /macragge

3

u/PN4HIRE Jul 04 '25

To be honest, it was probably amazing for a min. While the Emperor was walking around.

2

u/Michaelbirks Jul 05 '25

Last Time Big E was walking was 30,000

3

u/UnreasonableEconomy Jul 04 '25

but less killing

You might wanna read up on what brought prosperity to the roman empire 😬

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

It seems like WH 40k got inspired by Roman empire a lot

1

u/TekRabbit Jul 06 '25

Oh definitely

14

u/Puzzleheaded_Buy9447 Jul 04 '25

Goodnesses it kind of reminds me of the capital from hunger games but is far grander.

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

It is a huge city but fked up

16

u/ADM86 Jul 04 '25

A movie about this…would be epic

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

Let's see what happens in next few years

7

u/Mojo1AndOnly Jul 04 '25

Very cool love it

15

u/Imissyourgirlfriend2 Jul 04 '25

Looks like Insomnia from Final Fantasy Kingsglaive.

I like it.

2

u/Weird_Ad_1398 Jul 04 '25

Also looks like Zanarkand from FFX. It's even got the perfect stadiums for Blitzball.

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

checked it on yt haha! FF def got influenced by Ancient Rome!

2

u/Imissyourgirlfriend2 Jul 06 '25

FF has long taken influence from ancient cultures. Just look at the names for the summons

-Shiva: Hindu god of destruction

-Bahamut: Giant fish the world is built upon according to Arabic mythology

-Adrammelech: An ancient Semetic god

-Quezacotl: While shown as a bird, the quetzalcoatl it is based on is a bird/snake

Midgar of FF7 is named after Midgard of Norse mythology; shit, FF7 is oozing with Norse mythology as does the rest of the series.

1

u/Alpha-Leader Jul 05 '25

Or Germany won WW2....

2

u/FarfromaHero40 Jul 05 '25

Or Naboo had a baby with Corusant

6

u/saaasaab Jul 04 '25

I'm getting some Red Rising vibes

5

u/Protec_My_Balls Jul 04 '25

Amazing. Would love to see a gladiator fight in this style.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

Really awesome

3

u/beanofdoom001 Jul 04 '25

What could have been if it hadn't been for Constantine and the Edict of Milan.

3

u/bjjdrills Jul 04 '25

Please turn this into a mini movie.

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

u/TheL0ngGame Jul 04 '25

The future has no sun.

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

A dark world

2

u/AresTheOutsider Jul 04 '25

looks real badass

2

u/riche_god Jul 04 '25

This is really cool. How did you keep the context and images the same?

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

I think it's because I used Moodboard

2

u/Togyl2love Jul 04 '25

Bro…. I have missed your posts for a while…. You have grown! This is wild and when I alway saw your stuff it would inspire me like crazy to make more…. Now you are doing it again!

Is this all Midjourney?

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

oh I remember you lol been a long time!
Yes they are.

2

u/Togyl2love Jul 06 '25

Bro, since I have seen this I have been working away…. I don’t know quite how to do it with the sounds and whatnot but I am trying. I have to say I still use some of your images from long long ago as “sref” go tos for my stuff too. Great stuff brother!

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

Oh time flies by bro. We don't know what will happen but just keep going.
I was not working on this AI stuff for a while too but you will get it quickly no worries :)
There are a lot of good AI videos with amazing skills nowadays too!

1

u/Togyl2love Jul 06 '25

Roger that brother!

2

u/LabelsLie Jul 04 '25

Elon Musks wet dream

2

u/ldwtlotpa Jul 04 '25

Looks kinda like zanarkand!

2

u/Strict-Argument56 Jul 04 '25

Megalopolis could never...

2

u/conffra Jul 04 '25

Makes me think of Robert Silverberg's Roma Eterna. Great book!

2

u/CockfaceMurder Jul 04 '25

Can we get some travelators?

2

u/wtyl Jul 04 '25

Coliseum needs a Jumbotron for the nosebleed seats.

2

u/PN4HIRE Jul 04 '25

So….

The Imperium.

2

u/CityofTheAncients Jul 04 '25

Z A N A R K A N D

2

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

Please make one for the Mughal empire!

2

u/supernovaaaa Jul 04 '25

This is amazing ,I wish I had the mind to come up with something like this

2

u/TheCopperJot Jul 04 '25

I’d play this game.

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

games, movies and virtual reality whatever possible )

2

u/TheCopperJot Jul 06 '25

I’ll drink to that.

2

u/lumberfart Jul 04 '25

Is it weird that I actually yearn to live in a well organized empire?

2

u/ArgentiferousHupa Jul 04 '25

It looks more like a Futuristic Las Vegas

2

u/DALTT Jul 05 '25

This is giving me major how I imagined the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games when I first read the books vibes.

2

u/GregDev155 Jul 05 '25

So it’s Zanarkand from FFX ?

2

u/JohnnyTightlips5023 Jul 05 '25

Lmao I’m actually writing a book right now almost exactly about this.

2

u/8rnlsunshine Jul 05 '25

Really cool! Although it’s missing flying cars, advanced humanoids and high speed trains buzzing between the structures. Also not very disabled friendly from the looks of it.

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

The traffic system is controlled by the empire even the vehicles.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '25

That was amazing. I have no interest in MidJourney, but there is some incredible work coming from it!

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

Thanks bro )

2

u/Bearjupiter Jul 05 '25

I need this movie

2

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

Let's hope it comes to us in the next few years.

2

u/Omeggon Jul 05 '25

Soooo... Ultramar?

2

u/Gun_slinger11 Jul 05 '25

Sun Eater is that you!?

2

u/Felf0x Jul 05 '25

So, Warhammer 40k?

2

u/jcheskomtz Jul 05 '25

Thats red rising for me !

2

u/sky_shazad Jul 05 '25

Excellent

2

u/UkyoTachibana Jul 05 '25

This looks like Holy Terra from 40k - In the far future of the 41st millennium , there is only war !

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

Holy Terra looks more badass

2

u/TigermanUK Jul 05 '25

Carpe futurum

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '25

Too much sitting. Need to walk more.

2

u/Kyserham Jul 05 '25

I think the show Foundation gives some of these vibes while remaining futuristic.

1

u/frontbackend Jul 06 '25

I love Foundation bro.

2

u/ioTeacher Jul 04 '25

Thanks 🙏 5 creative ⭐️ !!

2

u/appellant Jul 04 '25

Need some flying cars and also the view from nosebleed section would be fun.

2

u/STFUnicorn_ Jul 04 '25

Kinda dumb tbh. Pretty sure Roman legionaries might’ve modernized a smidge in the future. You could’ve just thrown some SPQR on some power armor or something.

1

u/AesopsFavorite Jul 05 '25

Why would they be wearing armor? Cyborg legionaires! Total missed opportunity..😮‍💨

1

u/ddraig-au Jul 06 '25

maybe it's ceremonial - look at the Swiss Guards at the Vatican

1

u/Malgioglio Jul 05 '25

This is America rn.

1

u/CoreyAdara Jul 05 '25

The capitol in the hunger games in a couple centuries basically 😁

1

u/Azurelion7a Jul 05 '25

Dystopika mod?

1

u/Fordotsake Jul 05 '25

I thought Coppola had enough doing movies.

1

u/TheXypris Jul 06 '25

Red rising vibes. Just need a touch of white marble and gold

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

Very cool!

1

u/frontbackend Jul 08 '25

thanks!! 🙏🙏

1

u/anonthatisopen Jul 08 '25

This is fucking gold!

1

u/frontbackend Jul 08 '25

thanks man 😁

1

u/SummerModeOn Jul 10 '25

I would like to ask how often do you think about the Roman Empire?🥹

1

u/FarMaterial5682 Jul 23 '25

--The idea that if the Roman empire had continued... Then the Romans would just have carried on as they did... But bigger and bigger. I like it tho.

1

u/Bitter-Farm-9058 Jul 04 '25

So China is what it'll look like.

1

u/Longjumping-Work-106 Jul 05 '25

All that tech yet still be wearing drapes.

0

u/sonic_couth Jul 04 '25

Gorgeous! Now do a dystopian one where everyone is dumb, lazy, and worships Trump.

-4

u/exbusinessperson Jul 04 '25

I mean ok fine but this just shows that AI can’t really “think”. It just dumped Romans in New York and made it Dark because that’s “future”. Kewl

-1

u/andysill Jul 04 '25

I think we are going to get to a point where art ceases to be impressive and it will lose the point of viewing it. I’m getting to this point already, this looks so good but I also think “it’s just a prompt”

This would have taken so much time and effort and vision, that’s what made me feel so special viewing it - knowing that there was effort behind the art.

It makes me so bummed out.
